At least in the US, anything you create on a company computer can legally be the property of the company. Any computer programming, hobby projects, writing, media creation, or anything else you do on a company-owned device will most likely belong to them unless it is explicitly stated otherwise in a contract.
Sorry to say, I don't think there is any way to practically or legally separate personal use on an ipad from work use when it's company issued.
Most commercial CDs and DVDs are expected to last about 25 years, although they can last a lot longer than that depending on the quality of the manufacturing process, how the discs are stored, and how they are handled. Keep CDs and DVDs away from heat and light, keep them away from high humidity, and minimize flexing or bending them as much as possible. When discs flex, the polycarbonate layers can split and separate -- even just a tiny bit -- and moisture can get in. Once that happens, the disc will degrade faster.

Am American. Can confirm that we are hyper reactionary. I read the tweet and shrugged it off, and rolled my eyes at the people claiming that Proton was now “dead” to them for bending the knee to Trump and were seeking out alternatives.
All of our American healthcare horror stories are true. Never take medical systems advice from us; our system is so evil and broken that our only possible recourse is “deposing” CEOs.
I just looked into using Phoenix but after reading some valid criticisms of the project, along with the pain of setting it up and keeping it updated, it didn’t feel worth it for me.
And to be clear, Phoenix is not a browser, it is a Firefox config.
Now that I am looking at it again, I wonder if those buttons you circled are actually little plungers that push the joycon away from the body to help release it.
Edit: Whatever way they attach, I hope the new joycons don't loosen and flex like some of the current joycons do. Some of my joycons have "wobble" when attached and it makes me sad.
I am pretty sure those extra shoulder buttons on the back are the release levers for the joycons. I think the joycons attatch magnetically, but which also activate locking hooks. Otherwise people would be accidentally detaching joycons and the tablet portion would fall and break. Nintendo designs hardware to be kid friendly, so there is almost certainly a secondary attachment mechanism in addition to the magnets.
Sometimes I like hexbear, agree with them and laugh with them, and sometimes their insular attitude makes me cringe. I am very critical of the democratic establishment in the US but hexbear’s “blueMAGA” talk is really offputting to me and sounds like the incel / redpill speak from parts of reddit and other online communities.
Nintendo has had such terrible quality control when it comes to performance on Switch. First party Nintendo games even suffer from unacceptable framerate drops. So many Switch games struggle to perform well on the Switch; we need a Switch 2 just to get all the Switch 1 games to play at the intended performance level.
I forgot that not being part of a platform that just changed its rules to openly allow and advocate for hate speech toward trans people is virtue signaling.
Sorry that I want trans people to live without harassment and have human rights, I guess. What a virtue signaling asshole I am.
According to Google Trends, related searches like “how to delete all photos facebook,” “alternative to facebook,” “how to quit facebook,” “how to delete threads account,” and “how to delete instagram account without logging in” have become breakout searches, with popularity suddenly increasing by over 5,000% compared to previous periods.
So that is 51 times higher than usual? Am I mathing that correctly?
I wish stories like this wouldn't use percentages this way, and reported hard actual numbers to compare against.
My database is absolutely encrypted and I only local sync it.
Edit: I doubled checked the details of my setup. I am syncing between Android and a mac using Joplin and Nextcloud. I have them set to sync over wi-fi only and the database is encrypted, but it's not a LAN only connection when syncing.
I think that was certainly true ten years ago. But now? I honestly don't know what to make of Nintendo anymore. They have been so DMCA heavy against customers in recent years that I don't trust them to do anything right. They feel customer hostile.
Not that I know of. Unless someone has stated their gender or pronouns, I just use people's names and avoid anything that assumes or implies gender.
