  • But using Samsung Health means it will be locked down in their ecosystem, and also most likely harvested for whatever they want that data for; most likely more ads for their smart juicer or smart fridge or something.

    For sure!

The app I am currently using is called Calory. Sadly it’s not FOSS. I run an older version and block internet access to it so I don’t get the nag screens to pay their subscription pricing.

  • An issue I came across with the calorie apps on f-droid is that there isn’t one that simply lets me set a calorie goal/limit, and then lets me enter calories throughout the day and shows the running total and the remaining calories allowed. Basically I just want a special-purpose calculator app.

Please don’t force me to select what food i ate for which meal; just let me enter numbers.

  • Because most of my software doesn’t have support for webp, including but not limited to my Mac, phone, and messaging apps. Until everything supports it, I have to keep converting it to use it, so I just don’t bother saving anything as webp. In fact, I have a firefox extension that lets me save webp as other image formats.

It may be good to use for the web, but it’s not yet good for me.

  • I pretty much agree.

The only thing I would add is that it's not our place to tell others to lose weight or to point out their weight; people already know they are overweight and that it's unhealthy. We shouldn't be policing other people's bodies.

It's also possible to be overweight and have body positivity; being overweight doesn't equate to being unattractive.
