  • if Ukraine is willing to fight and die for European freedom for the low low cost of just some money its insane to reject their offer.

Insane. It pisses me off no end that we haven't given them the tools to not just defend their freedom, but to win. Fuck your fear of escalation. There are North Korean soldiers fighting a war of aggression in Europe.

Like how much more are we going to take?

  • Can you absolutely shut the fuck up. Europe can and should fill the gap if trump pussies out.

Exactly how many F16s has the US given? Oh that's right. Zero.

Europe has (in total) ponied up more in arms and cash than the US.

I would rather be taxed to death than see them overrun.

    Jog on.

  • I'm not sure how, for one second you believe that if Putin ordered a nuclear strike, that order wouldn't be carried out.

  • I do not consider you an idiot one bit for what it's worth. I definitely did not know that word for a significant portion of my life.

It's not something that appears in books or something you come across in school.

  • I actually consider this really positive on a few fronts.

Firstly, people are trying to learn. That's great.

Oligarchy is not a common word if your English level isn't great and that's true for lots of people. Even if you read books a decent amount it's not something I think you'd come across frequently.

Also, for folks who don't know what an oligarchy is, for them to find out they're possibly living in one may change their world view.

    I'm sure there are more.

  • Ah go easy on yourself. It's all niche knowledge.

I'm my first job I worked in a chip company. There was an entire department dedicated to the interface between the chip and whatever it connected to. I learned just how incredibly specialised individual knowledge has become and how much cooperation between those niches is required to enjoy the things we all take for granted.

  • pinky winky promise me not to do that again

Best I can do is "no".

  • Fair enough. I hear where you're coming from. Is there an alternative that stops the little fiefdoms that you have in mind?

Genuine, open question because I do feel like something has to be done about the ban happy gang.

  • Am I missing something or is this policy change to combat the tankie mods who are just banning left and right for anything that doesn't match the tankie narrative?

  • Mars Guy.

He's a geologist who does a weekly video rounding up what perseverance has been up to and it's one of the best parts of my Sunday.

  • That was such a good movie. I must give it a rewatch.

  • This is absolutely the way to look at that level of intimacy IMO because that's how I view it.

The day my dad died, nearly 23 years ago now, was also the day that I knew I'd ask my wife to marry me.

It was a long illness and he was relatively young. We were living together and I had just sucked it up for 18 painful months. Never cried once.

Anyway the day came and I got home and just cracked when we went to bed. I just sobbed in the bed with her. Like a real, deep, deep sobbing.

She just held me and rubbed my hair and I will never, ever forget that.

Anyway about 8 months later I asked her to marry me and we're married over 20 years now and have a beautiful family together. I love her so much.

  • The entire circle represents total value for all car makers. Area taken up is their ratio of the total. It's geographically colour coded.

  • The process is well understood. Making them isn't really an issue. It's getting enough of the right grade uranium.

  • Nobody has any illusions that it's Ukraine cutting off the supply. Weird that you even think that.

Why would they feed the economy of an invading force after the agreement expires? It's a miracle they left it in place this long.

  • Yeah that's the one I just watched it through. Thanks for the link. Absolutely reckless behaviour from the owner after the previous crack event on dive 80 to go down again. Just so many bad choices.

Fascinating that they had the data to tell them it wasn't safe and just ploughed ahead without examining it.

  • What the fuck? That's mental. I'd never heard that little nugget before.
