Also you can juke a lot of QoL stats through interactions with other countries (for better or worse; having a weak currency could improve employment conditions but make it harder for people to get imported goods, impossible for a household to achieve or even make a meaningful decision on)

Public transport is not the worst in Australia, but so many jobs require a car even if you can make it to work. I think people also judge you negatively if you don't drive even if the job doesn't require it.

One of my favourite (?) conspiracy theories locally is regarding any left wing policy or social action. Like, you can just go to the meetings bro. Socialist alliance or whatever are super keen for new active members. You can literally go see how they make decisions.

Bleh, this reminded me of a housemate who insisted that buying two of a cleaning product was a waste of money and space and then routinely lose them. Very annoy. Big fan of keeping stuff for cleaning a space around that space instead of the other side of the house.
