  • Sorry, I should have clarified. I'm not in that boat, but for the people who have told me they didn't vote, that was the biggest issue for them. Maybe there would have been something else, but I believe a policy change with Israel would have been enough to get those people out. I guess we'll never know.

  • All the DNC needed to do was condemn Israel's genocide in Gaza and to stop enabling it. Instead, we have to deal with this shit. Maybe they'll learn and they can be swing to actual progressive, but I won't hold my breath.

  • Hell yeah, I really appreciate the effort it took to complete this post! It definitely reminds me of a simpler time.

Has anyone tried out the mobile port of Dredge? Some friends have recommended the original game to me, but I'm wondering if I'd be more willing to play it on my phone.

  • Which level(s) will you be playing at? I personally prefer the Barbarian class's flavor over the Fighter, but depending on level, you'll get more attacks and ASIs as a Fighter.

Overall, I'd say a Champion Fighter would be more straightforward, but a Berserker Barbarian would be more fun to play.

  • I absolutely adore this game, but imo it's a terrible candidate for a remaster. The graphics were already stylized so I doubt a graphics update would make much difference. It's a puzzle game so the replayability is already low. And I can't imagine that developer commentary get people excited about buying the game again.

I wish this was successful, but I can see why this went sideways.

  • There are dozens of us! I think the book is enjoyable if all you're expecting is a fun but shallow ride. If it's been hyped up, it's going to be disappointing. A lot of reviews treat it like the pinnacle of the genre, which is ridiculous.

  • I agree with your main points, but I don't think that just because something has been the status quo it doesn't deserve scrutiny. There are those out there who feel that this is an issue. For them, the best time to explore it is now. At this point it's futile, but I think it's important that we re-evaluate our laws and policies when there's a group asking for it. We just need to make sure the people making the decisions at the end of the day are competent...

  • I hope the game picks up for you! I remember enjoying the game a lot, the items were fun and that final boss was a blast. I also really liked the art style, though I can see why some people didn't.

I haven't played it since launch, but I'm really hoping they do a remaster for it soon. I'm surprised they did Skyward Sword before it...

  • I'm sure the next few days before the surgery are going to be tough emotionally for both of you. It sounds like your SO likely doesn't realize how worried they are or how much it's affecting them, but giving them a little space is a good move.

Try not to beat yourself up for getting upset - it's a perfectly normal reaction, especially in a stressful situation like this. Luckily there're a few days before the procedure so you can hopefully discuss it and be supportive of each other. This internet stranger is sending love!

  • Wow wasn't expecting to see an Addie LaRue reference today! Who's to say that the thought of "Ralph" doesn't trigger thoughts or feelings in an individual that affects them later on today, later on this week, etc. I agree it's a beautiful sentiment.

P.S. That's probably my favorite book I've read in the last few years.

  • "Piracy preserves what capitalism can't be bothered to."

Love that sentence, and I agree with your points that these pieces of media are available not truly "lost." I don't hold anything against studios/publishers not wanting to invest time to make niche ports/emulations available, especially when it won't make them money.
