End of an era. That said, while RB4 was one of the first Xbox One titles I ever bought, I don’t think I’ve picked up my guitar or mic in about 4 years, let alone bought any new music.
As long as the music just stays available, I’ll probably still jump in again some day, but kudos to them for putting out weekly music since the Rock Band 1 days in the 360 era.
Not just that. When self-checkouts were first introduced, the argument was that even with the added shrink, the benefits outweighed the costs of employing an actual person. Now, of course, the shrink rates have no longer made this profitable and shareholders are crying.
Personally, I’m fine with self-checkout since I can bag my own groceries exactly how I want them and without having to interact with anyone. That said, I will not be stopping for anyone to check my receipt and my items. If they don’t want the possibility of shrink, then they shouldn’t have gone this route in the first place.
As a newer Trekkie, I thoroughly appreciate this write-up; helps explain a lot of the things I see online these days.
I’ve only recently finished watching TNG for the first time and I’m going through DS9 now. It never occurred to me that people would have issues with a gasp woman CMO and with a bald captain, but it all just goes to show that people will always find something to gripe about.
For the most part, I mainly stick to the meme communities for Star Wars and Trek to avoid most of the vitriol. For Star Wars, don’t get me wrong, I’ll argue about the sequels all day, but it all gets old when people complain about the other stuff we’ve got from Disney and refuse to find anything even entertaining about the sequels.
I’m excited to continue on my Star…Trek 😅. Just started S3 of DS9, I’ll get into Voyager and continue from there. Time has shown meme, however, that the larger communities for these things just aren’t for me since I can’t find fault in every single thing that gets produced.
Have you played Dragon Age: Origins? It’s an older title, but sounds like it has everything you want.
And, if your itch can be scratched with something other than dragons, I’d recommend Mass Effect. The very first game in the trilogy is very much an RPG while the second and third games are more story and character focused. Overall, it’s just a good gaming time.
I didn’t need to buy my PS5 either, but my PS4 was a much older device I’d bought cheap from a co-worker and I felt like it was getting slow.
The bonus of having both is that the PS4 is comparatively light and compact, so I can travel with it, and for the two PS5 exclusives I have, there is an option to remote play the PS5 on the PS4, so I’m generally happy with my purchase.
All that notwithstanding, I’ve got an Xbox One X and I’ve seen no real need to upgrade that to a Series X. There are no Xbox exclusives for the Series X/S that have been driving forces.
This generation honestly feels like it lacks direction. The consoles are more expensive and are huge devices, with controllers that now cost more than games. With the original scarcity of the newer consoles, nearly four years into this generation, new releases are still available for the older gen. I feel like we’re reaching a point where console evolution either needs to take an enormous leap, or we just stop seeing console generations altogether.
I worked with a guy from Florida who was telling us that legit everyone in Florida carried a gun, and that it was so common to keep one on you that when he left for work one day and realized that he’d left his gun at home, he did a u-turn and went all the way back home to get his gun before heading on to work.
I don’t feel like that is necessary for me, but then I’ve never lived in Florida either.
The moment you mention the Terminal, it’s a wrap for most users.
That said, Ubuntu is at a point where you could almost entirely avoid the Terminal if you wanted. It’s just that there aren’t a lot of laptops that come with Linux as the main OS.
I’d like to see this mug, please.
