  • Depending on your browser, it should prompt you asking if you want to open the link in Vortex. You can set it to always open and then Vortex will handle all the downloads from there on.

  • A used one in your area, so long as it's newer (2021+)

I would recommend using Linux on it instead of ChromeOS, if you're a little more technically inclined. ChromeOS is fine but it limits you to just the Google ecosystem whereas Linux allows you to do things with it like a normal computer.

I took an old (2017?) model and put a super lightweight Linux distro on it and use it as a little administrator device. It's got good battery and acceptable processor speed, but it's severely limited by CPU cooling and storage.

  • I did recently. I backed up my boot drive and then loaded a Ubuntu distro. That was a mistake because of the snap store but other than that, it still didn't work as well as I'd hoped. I had trouble with Lutris installing the blizz launcher and I gave up after an hour of troubleshooting and reverted back to Win10.

  • I did it just by myself. I just kept critiquing myself after a negative interaction and trying to figure out why I got angry or frustrated. I still give in to that anger once in a while but I've gotten better.

I learned it's easier for me to forgive when I've had proper sleep, actually. I also look at it from the other person's side and think of what problems that person is going through and excuse them for whatever is frustrating me.

It's easy to think of it like a shitty driver and getting angry at them. Why are they speeding? Could be a bathroom emergency. Could be meeting a loved one at the hospital. I don't know, so I'm not gonna judge.

  • You can set it up on your computer to run as a local website. You access it by going to your local computer IP address followed by the port it's on.

I set mine to run on port 8084.

    192.168.1.10:8084

If I put that into my browser it loads the website directly from the computer I'm hosting it from.

  • Syncthing is absolutely amazing. I set up my documents folder to sync to my phone and I've used it so many times recently because I'm in the middle of a move. I have it all portable - don't have to set up my desktop to send a file to someone.
