  • I run it on a dedicated machine that does all my media management. I'm transitioning to Linux eventually.

I started out using a pi and installed sonarr and radarr with mono. Then I switched to docker on my spare windows machine. Whenever I get a break in work I'll switch to Linux completely.

Since my stuff is already containerized, it should be a painless transition... hopefully. I'll probably wait until I get a new HDD to transition to a new format since all my stuff is NTFS.

  • Only qbit I have other stuff in that stack as well, like sonarr and radarr, that I cut out.

The network mode setting in docker acts as a bind. The port is exposed to the host in gluetun. If gluetun throws an error and shuts down, qBit WebUI is no longer accessible.

  • I took a little ASROCK DeskMini and put a 5700G in it to serve as a media and light gaming station. My family uses it more than I do now.

You could easily do this with a pi 5 or pi variant for cheap.

  • ChatGPT consistently makes up shit. It's difficult to tell when something is made up because it's a language model so it is supposed to sound confident as if it's any person telling a fact that they know.

It knows how to talk like a subject matter expert because that's usually what gets publicized most and thus that's what it's trained on, but it doesn't always know the facts necessary to answer questions. It makes shit up to fill the gap and then presents it intelligently, but it's wrong.

  • Seconding the other user's post, it's just storage. You can use it temporarily for the Plex server but I highly recommend offloading that task to a real computer.

A used Optiplex is usually the go-to because it's low power and capable of doing the job. Just make sure it has enough RAM to handle the containers you wanna put on it.

Docker is a little bit of learning but you'll get the hang of it. I found docker-compose to be much easier to learn. Portainer or Dockge can help by giving you a GUI, if that's your preferred style (like me).

  • For stain removal, having a proper carpet cleaner is worth the money. We have one almost always ready to go. It sits in the closet loaded with the water and cleaning solution mix and as soon as a big spill happens we can just clean it up.

  • There are basically three reasons they would withdraw the CSG

the strike group will return to the carrier's home port of Norfolk, Virginia, as originally scheduled so it could prepare for future deployments.

They've been on deployment since May. It's answered in your own post.
