  • History of the World Part II was honestly fucking great. It also had very little to do with Mel Brooks. It had brilliant comedians at the helm writing and steering everything: Ike Barinholtz, Nick Kroll, and Wanda Sykes. A goddamn DREAM TEAM, and they pulled it off regardless of the reviews.

This outing had better heavy hitters really leaning hard into the comedy. I've heard good things about The Naked Gun remake which is a lot of people in this same arena, plus Seth Macfarlane. That's quite a big team.

Please don't ruin this great movie with a sub-par sequel.

Rick Moranis, I'm speaking directly to you because I know in my heart you are using Lemmy.

    You better fucking show up.

  • Okay, so what's your network look like?

Specs on your router, is this wired or wireless to the Shield, how much other traffic are the other network clients pulling, and is this a constant, or just happens intermittently?

  • If you went from "everything works", to "now it stutters", then you either have a networking issue, or a resource issue on the source.

    Did you update something recently?

Do you have network stats from your router?

Do some devices work fine, and others don't?

  • You're completely missing the point though.

The reason Apple is literally spending billions of dollars globally fighting against government mandates for opening their ecosystem to third-party app stores is not because of their usability, it's because they know they have an on-par product with a high profit margin and intend to keep that way instead of doing actual innovation to differentiate their products.

As you even said, there is no difference between them now, so just existing to enhance profits is not a good reason to keep doing things as they are.

And also I was at WWDC 2019 where they literally said in a Q&A they weren't making developer tools available for iOS because they wanted people to use MacOS for development.

There is literally no difference in software between any of them anymore, except the manufactured kneecaps that they won't allow certain devices to produce under.

Android had all this over a decade ago. It's just a fact.

  • Kind of a mind blowing read since Android has had this for over a decade.

Apple F'd this up way back when they had divergent builds between phone and tablet OS treatments because they were afraid the iPad would impact MacBook sales. They nerfed the entire device line by restricting memory for this exact reason. Not even mentioned once in this article.

  • What a fucking.idiot.

Not only did he make this all worse for the US, he's going to try and trot this out like it's an improvement.

There was a no problem before you started one, dipshit, now everything is going to cost more for no fucking reason. Eat shit.

  • States in league with utilities providers are making it more difficult for solar owners to be edit as well. California is probably the worst offender from that perspective, and PG&E just made record profits reselling solar they didn't generate. Arizona and Nevada have similar issues, so now it only makes sense to have a battery bank to maximize solar benefits, and that costs as much as the panels and circuits.
