Their bot api is very easy to use. I have made some telegram bots because is so easy. Tried to do the same with WhatsApp and didn't even get permission and api access.

Average Joes use mainstream things, if you want to do something accessible, these bots are the way. Ideally, you want them to download or use an app that does some hand holding. I'm all up to the fediverse but let's be honest, it has some non intuitive things for today's user, most were trained to understand and like centralized services. They vaguely understand and use emails today, and mostly for account creation of other platforms.

Disclaimer: haven't tried to make signal bots, they are a thing?

Nature has an automated system when a species grows beyond the limit the ecosystem can sustain. They die, either from lack of food, or because they are hunted and eaten. For me it was self hosting, aka not having a choice but to learn. I'll be dead before using remote desktop for that.

Also, self hosting gives you real motivation, because you actually need to do things, carry tasks, not just learning for the sake of it. Your efforts get immediately rewarded with functioning things.

Nowadays hetero has been redefined to better reflect gender diversity. Homo is same gender, hetero is different genders, even if the gender are not man and woman. This includes non-binary people in the definition, as long as they are not the same gender, is not homosexual. And to be honest, it ties better to the word, etymologically.

Also bisexual now means homo and hetero, not men and women. I'm still confused about pansexuality in this definitions. I also might have got something wrong in this explanation as I'm a cis straight dude, who listens to other people saying this things.
