  • The bigger news was Chesebro getting an accelerated trial date of 10/23.

  • Your links offering "proof" are other lemmy threads.

    Where's your communication with Valve?

  • The Series S is proving to be a boat anchor holding the platform back. They should cut it loose and release a digital only Series X to fill the space and call it good.

  • Well, there's already a trial scheduled for 10/23... what's one more defendant between friends?

  • The 14th spells out the process:

Anyone is disqualified if they took an oath and subsequently "shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability."

The problem is, until Trump is convicted, we can't DEFINITIVELY say he engaged in insurrection or rebellion. The evidence is there, and it needs to be heard in a court of law.

The other dude who got bounced out of office WAS convicted, there was no question that he engaged in insurrection or rebellion.

American law isn't based on "Well, everyone knows he's guilty."

  • Floyd, they have him on count 1 (RICO), but also 30-31.

Conspiracy to commit solicitation of false statements and writings.

    Influencing witnesses

  • Yeah, I hope it doesn't just get pillaged. We'll see!

  • That's going to be interesting to me, monitoring what gets taken and what gets left.

  • It's kind of a catch 22 though, isn't it?

I'd love to put up a flag at my house, but at the same time, I don't really want to be associated with most people flying flags like that.

On the other hand, the optics of flying the flag won't change unless more average Americans start doing it too...

I guess the solution is to have multiple flags to make it 100% clear, US flag, State flag + I dunno, an LGBTQ+ flag or something.

  • It's surprisingly deep for a movie based on a toy. It has quite a bit to say beyond all the obvious product placement.

  • What I explained on reddit, before I left, is that their entire business model depends on monetizing free user submitted content, controlled by free user based moderation.

That model is INFINITELY replaceable. See digg, fark, slashdot.

You want your moderators to toe the business line but they aren't employees and you aren't paying them? Good luck with that!

  • Looks good, but why would anyone stomp around a warzone in a big mech suit, with a chainsaw sword, but no helmet?

    Recipe for oneshot...

  • Same, and I have a, what? 16 year old reddit account? Top 1% of Karma? Was in a lot of the exclusive groups like centuryclub, top, etc. etc.

Way to drive away your user base, reddit!

  • That's what's hilarious to me... we brought Lorelai in at about 6 weeks, Rocket hated her instantly with the power of 1,000 suns, but our 3rd cat, Keanu, loves her. They are best buds.

But when we got Keanu and he was a baby and Rocket was 2, it was the exact same reaction.

  • This ended with Lorelei lunging at Rocket, grabbing her by the neck and trying to bite her.

Rocket is 10 years older and just is... not... playing...

  • Jetsons was set in 2062, because 100 years back then seemed like a LOOOOONG time.

I think we can say now, setting sci-fi in the "near future" isn't enough. Blade Runner was 2019 for crying out loud.

Keep the show the same, but add 500 years to present. 2523. Worked for Buck Rogers!
