I used to shoot a 65#, but at my age it is starting to mess up my shoulders and I struggle to draw back properly more than 30 arrows or so. The 42 is a joy to shoot, I can shoot all day!
Works very well, stops 70# arrows at 10m no problem. Lasts very well too, and easy to repair after the center is shot out.
It is some kind of high density foam sheets, maybe 5mm thick each. I’ll get a closeup pic:This is a brand new one.
