I always thought this was mainly a US thing (the super sugary coffee drinks,in gallon size), until I talked to some Italian friends that drink cappuccino with more sugar than milk. And they describe it as being something that their parents did as well.

Indeed, they are human, and possibly under the right (wrong) circumstances some of us would exhibit some of the same traits. But we're at a point that for us to keep being human for a while longer, they have to stop being human forever.

You can't really stand up to power by voting, unfortunately. All your choices are just different ways of giving these jackals power with more or fewer steps.

I hope there are local groups and organizations where you're at that you can join to start to organize a grassroots movement.

Damn right! It was about time that we finally get the message (again I might add) and deconstruct the fake boundaries that were put up to divide us.

Not money, but time. In my experience, finding a local mutual aid group or place is a great place to start doing meaningful work and also a great way to meet awesome people.

And still not enough to curb the amount of trash being produced, shipped around the world and then trashed locally when it doesn't match the expectations of the buyer / rips after putting it on.

A bit off-topic, sorry, but the difference between the answers to similar questions in this community (Lemmy) and others is quite staggering. Here we have people talking openly about non monogamous approaches in healthy and mature ways. Love it!
