  • Oh my god.. i completely overlooked the config in your original message!!

Un any case, look at this: https://join-lemmy.org/docs/administration/caddy.html

Someone done the work, and they would be glad if you made use of it :)

    And if you start with: lemmy.domain.tld:81 {

You can even have it run on a different port, so you can test it without risking your apache config.

  • I dont think its hard :)

Can you post your apache config?

Ive been so long on Caddy i havent touched Apache or nginx for ages. But i'm pretty sure i or someone else can help you convert your config :)

  • This is not about protecting you, this is about you learning (or so i think) to differentiate truth from lie.

Thats what i think anyway :)

  • I used to be all for "keep encryption encrypted!!!!1!!!"

But recent worldly events have got me thinking a bit. So many people are so easily corrupted, that i'm beginning to see her point. But at the same time i think privacy IS a fundamental human right.

These are nasty times for all of us. And clearly there is no easy answer.

  • I'm really surprised noone mentioned Caddy which handles all the SSL business for you. Not to mention an easier config :)

  • I'd try a wiki of some sorts. Personally we collect a lot of stuff in our bookstack instance. Recently we're looking into tools that can save a page for offline usage.

  • Thats why i'm mindfull about my data :) But not to the point that i worry about it constantly, or that i dont do or say stuff "because.. data" if you know what i mean :)

  • This is true :) but its unlikely that i'm going out like that šŸ˜‚

  • I certainly don't care. Once i'm dead, none of that will matter. And since i'm certain i will die, none of that matters.

I live my life conscious about data gathering, but i wont hide myself or stop doing things i lime because of it.

In the end, in 200 years noone will know who i was. Not even Lemmy.

  • I'm on my own instance, so i dont have anything to complain.

  • I'll be alone. I lost my mother in August, so i'm an orphan now (my dad died 5 years ago)

I'm not sad or in need of pitty though. I just need my alone time to think things over. Christmas is as good a time as any :)

  • Greed.

America is a great example of this.

  • Because before computers and the internet there was no child abuse? Child abuse is of all ages. And who is more vulnerable to it? The weak and the poor.

Personally, i believe we'll see more and more of it, as most of society gets poorer and poorer. People will do anything to survive.

This is just an easy way to earn money. And its easier to reach a bigger audience. But i don't think its gotten worse because we have the internet. Thats just bullshit in my opinion.

But then, i don't have any kids, so what do i know about abusing your child for money.

  • No. And thats the reason i don't have kids.

Humanity is rotten, and personally i don't think we'll ever change. The best thing that can happen to earth is for humanity to collapse and become extinct.

  • I use qemu to virtualize a Windows machine. I run KDE with Virt Manager, so i created a new VM, selected Windows 11 and everything else worked normally.

  • So then it is okay to add another? ;-)

  • One thing i have to comment on, blame is much like an excuse. I haven't had a great childhood myself. Both my parents where mentally challenged, ive been taking care of them since i was 12. But i don't blame them. It is what it is, and now i move on. I feel blame is another way of saying "i dont have to change because its their fault"

Mind you, i blamed my parents for a while.. But in the end, they are just a product of their upbringing. And i choose to not be. I choose to make my own choices, and be responsible for my own life.

I hope you can get past the blame part, and start focussing on what is to come, not that which was. Focus on your "flaws" and change them.

    Good luck!
