Also do you really need a full DE when just using a browser on the go? I use i3wm without a compositor on battery and my wifi+firefox battery life went from 5h to about 7-8h.

It's almost at the point where Wine can run more games than Windows. Most games from the Win98 to early WinXP era just run fine on Wine and don't even show a title screen or glitch and flicker on Win10.

You can support a Windows domain and tons of endpoints from Linux. I know. My work PC runs Arch, btw.

It also only has a 32bit CPU. So I think Android 10 is as high as it goes. I never updated my Android 4.4 because it runs so much better on it.

Battery is pretty shot though so I only rarely use it at home now.

M8 with Harman Kardon mod (fakes the model so the controls appear) is absolutely incredible. They really squeezed everything out of those tiny tweeters. And the IR Blaster is super handy.

Make sure to put anything you want public under the correct license. If a platform doesn't support CC or GPL or MIT, then leave.

That's weird. I just logged into my ea account from 2012 after not touching it for 5 years and it appears everything is there. Adding a recovery mail just to be sure now. LOL, it's so old it doesn't even have a name and shows as a 25 digit ID on the website.

Oh, my HTC One M8 had that. Really miss it for the IR Blaster and the air pressure sensor. You always had a really good weather station in your pocket.

My new android phone is waterproof, rugged, has 5 days of battery life, 2 microsim, 1 microsd (up to 1TB i think, for apps and/or photos depending on partitioning via adb), headphone jack, no stupid notch or hole in the display and a notification light for $100. Sure I only get 4GB of RAM, a 24MP camera without stabilization, 64GB of slow-ish flash and an 8 core mediatek cpu. But if Google or HTC won't give me what I want, I'll buy the Doogee S51 with the fake 2nd wide angle camera that is just a dummy lens.

I was really baffled when I got a November 2023 security OTA update. Didn't expect that. Also it isn't loaded with crapware like a Samsung or Lenovo. Overall I am quite satisfied with price/performance.
