  • Yeah. In working for the public sector, I accepted lower pay in return for a good pension and a sense of doing something worthwhile. Now they've made the pension scheme way worse, my pay is 25% lower in real terms than it was 15 years ago, and everything we do is badly underfunded because they're sending all the money to outsourcers who do not give a shit about anything but their executive pay packets.

And muggins is still here because even though the bastards will (almost) inevitably win, I want to fight the fuckers anyway.

  • Absolute bullshit. Hang around for a bus, which you may or may not be charged for, because all the money is being spent on enabling more cars.

TfL said the shuttle bus was the best option as services could be tailored to “uncertain demand” to ensure value for money.

Translation: we'll make the bus too infrequent to be of any use to anyone, then cite the lack of demand as a reason to cut the service further.

  • Unearned income is taxed at a lower rate than earned income. I mean, pretty much everything about capitalism tbf, but that particular thing is saying the quiet part out loud and it still gets almost no attention.

  • Oh, yeah. They're just conduits for the juice, they don't touch the power terminals. Used for drippers with tanks on the bottom so that you don't have to tip them up to soak the wicks. They still have cotton wicks in the heating coils.

  • It would be very hard to make the resistance of the larger cable higher than the smaller one because resistance is a function of the cross-section of the wire. Obviously also a function of the metals, maybe something like silver and Kanthal but it feels like a long shot.

I don't know what tech the OP is talking about but you don't need a wick if you can get e-juice flowing over the coil anyway. You can use a dripper like this so I'm guessing someone has developed a tank to feed the juice into the setup?

  • It's OK. Ordinary people will have no trouble at all making sure they use a different vehicle every time they drive their kid to college or collect an elderly relative for the holidays. This will only inconvenience serious criminals.

  • Marxism works as a critique of lassiez-faire capitalism, but as a standalone system always results in the creation od totalitarian regimes.

Marx never devised any kind of "system" and there has never been a Marxist revolution (if you mean, of the kind Marx predicted would occur). Marx thought revolution would result from the concentration of labour in factories in heavily industrialised countries but so-called Marxist revolutions have only happened in agrarian economies so far.

It turns out that fascism (which is power protecting itself) is the primary beneficiary of crises of capitalism because they happen when labour is at its weakest.

  • It's not a paywall on information. What you're paying for is a better search engine and better privacy. People have to be paid to provide you with that and, if you don't want to pay them with cash, you can go and pay another search engine with your time and data.

  • You can just join Gab?

The problem with providing them a platform on your server is that no one else will want to be there. And no one else needs to be there because there's a thousand other instances with decent moderation policies.
