I've noticed a lot of weird comments taking extremely obvious jokes entirely literally but as the others have said there's an abundance of autists here so it's hard to say.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who went from a relatively clever teen to being a fucking braindead idiot as an adult but I am concerned that this seems to be somewhat commonplace.
Last time I was at the dentist a guy in the waiting room was loudly watching a movie on his phone. After a couple minutes I went over to him and politely asked him if he could turn it down and he immediately apologized and obliged, no fuss or anything. I felt like a god for the rest of the afternoon. Big ups to that guy for being cool about it too.
