The American Oil Industry’s Playbook, Illustrated: How Drillers Offload Costly Cleanup Onto the Public

  • It wasn't the govt. It was the military who are independent of the government. It was and is led by Min Aung Hlaing. This is what the West fails to understand. The military wrote the constitution. They have unelected seats in parliament. They are authorized to act in any way they deem fit. Also, in a twist of irony the same military is now arming the Rohingya guerrillas, training them and they are now allies fighting the other ethnic armies. So while the Western media and its consumers want simple black and white picture of evil vs good, the picture is more complex.

  • A little too late Justin. You let corporate greed rule your policies when it comes to immigration and foreign students without working out the strain it qould cause elsewhere in the economy. That is the absence of governing not good government. PP and conservatives will be the same if not worse!

Xi urges Chinese envoys to create 'diplomatic iron army'

  • Capability? China has the world's largest military. They have the largest Naval fleet. China is and has been an expansionist power through its history. Their current aim is to restore Chinese pride and put China at its rightful place as the center of the universe. Any part they claim as theirs they are using those military assets to assert their claim, like the islands in Southeast Asian waters far away from their shores. This is the same attitude that allowed Russia to invade Ukraine twice.

  • I will remind you that Italy has a CONSERVATIVE GOVERNMENT. I wish Cons would follow their example. I wish our LIBERAL government would have half the brains to do this. We need to do this with our banks, grocery chains, airlines and oil companies.

  • Canada is WAY WAY BEHIND in the MVNO game. It is RIDICULOUS that it's taken THIS LONG for CRTC to implement what is already common everywhere else in the world. Honestly, CRTC is there to protect the telecom monopolies, NOT the Canadian consumers.
