  • All of my signal conversations have auto expiry

Do people really use their conversation logs for things? Are you often searching your conversational logs?

Outside of corporate compliance issues I can't imagine the workflow for most people

  • I am trying to limit my salt

If your doing low carb all day, you probably want to increase your sodium intake overall. Low carb reduces blood sugar levels, which reduce insulin levels, which impact how much salt the kidneys retain. Some people when getting into a fat burning metabolism can have low electrolytes while their body adjusts.. sometimes this is called keto flu - increasing sodium intake while adapting helps avoid this

  • It is difficult to feel full without carbs. I am still learning and experimenting.

You just need more fat and protein. I've been doing keto for awhile and meals are always satisfying. If your hitting your protein goals then just load up on fat until your not hungry. Avocado, cheese, sour cream, etc

  • Its interesting you bring up the limitation, it seems that most of the "calorie reduced" food studies on animals are actually intermittent fasting studies

Glad to see you have had success giving up soda!

  • I'm not familiar with much research on food noise as a topic by itself.

However you may find this paper on the power of sugar addiction in rats Intense Sweetness Surpasses Cocaine Reward - 2007

Our findings clearly demonstrate that intense sweetness can surpass cocaine reward, even in drug-sensitized and -addicted individuals. We speculate that the addictive potential of intense sweetness results from an inborn hypersensitivity to sweet tastants. In most mammals, including rats and humans, sweet receptors evolved in ancestral environments poor in sugars and are thus not adapted to high concentrations of sweet tastants. The supranormal stimulation of these receptors by sugar-rich diets, such as those now widely available in modern societies, would generate a supranormal reward signal in the brain, with the potential to override self-control mechanisms and thus to lead to addiction.

  • Being alive uses energy, if someone fasts for a week their basal metabolic burn rate would come from their stored fat.

Call it 1,500 a day for the average adult. A pound is about 3,300.. so they should burn a pound of fat every two days just for existing

  • You have a better tolerance for carbs then most people. However, this meme is about people basically being addicted to carbs and fighting their food cravings when they burn through the 5g of glucose in the blood (because the body stores fat, not carbs). Carbs are the reason people are on the hangry roller coaster, always thinking about the next meal like it's an emergency
