  • Eclipse... I used that back in college... In 2003...

  • Sure! Maybe move Lemmy.World to general? I know we're kind of a catch all instance. Other then that, great stuff.

  • I like the design, but the categories are all wacky, if your in the know about fedi stuffs.

  • I'm the head of infa on LW, but we have a few other managers as well who run different parts of the site. I'm also a site admin as well, for when I help out w/ moderation.

    AKA

LW infra = Head of sysadmin team

LW Site Mods = Just a janitor :-P We have other managers, and mods that work under them.

We have infra across many services, but that is kinda of sensitive.

  • I go off FediDB for my stats. so it needs to be above x users for it to get added. Also TY TY <3

  • Aww, yeah looks like my girl <3

  • You should also check out Hubitat, they make a excellent ZigBee + Zwave hub. Works with Google Assistant, has a REST API and can work offline as well. They give you a lot for free.

  • There are also custom firmwares you can load on ESP8266s as well, but nothing beats a UL approved solution so you don't burn your house down πŸ€ͺ

  • Option 1, KeePassXC plus SyncThing, done. Works amazing on all my devices.

  • I still got a 3a! It's definitely on the slow side these days, even with root.

  • Why not just keep on using Keep? I've used a ton of different ones and a I keep on going back to it. It's simple and just works. Obsidian is also really nice if you need a full notebook.

  • This makes me honking mad.

  • I mean, who doesn't use snapshots these days? BTRFS / ZFS has saved me days of grief.

  • I use both ALOT professionally. I can say I prefer Python over PowerShell anyway... Except for Windows automation, where PS is actually pretty dope. Bash is okay, I've seen folks write shit in it that should have been done in Python, or GoLang, or literally anything else.

That being said, I won't go near Rust, not because it's a bad language feature wise, but my brain hurts when I try and read Rust code.
