  • Highly recommend Expedition 33. The game play is exactly what I've been looking for in a game, and the story and world are both amazing.

  • Huh weird. I've got an account on .world and if I use that with Sync, posts don't show get marked as read for me. Wonder what I'm doing wrong.

  • Good call. I'll ask my boss to mail me the puzzle.

  • I love puzzles, but I'd hard pass on a puzzle of my boss's junk.

  • Books

    Jump
  • I read one of his short stories recently that followed one of the characters whose child died in Cujo. I love the idea of Stephen King completely forgetting he wrote that book and having to go back and read it to come up with characters for his later stories. Do you suppose while reading he was like "Damn this book is great, I wonder what'll happen next?"

  • Plus, Trump tweets in all caps. Not because he's angry all the time, but because he's old and that's the only way he can read the characters as he types them.

  • Exactly. It's just an insult to them.

A while back, one of my Trumper neighbors decided that she didn't use an elliptical work-out machine that she had bought over 2 years prior. She took it back to the store without a receipt and demanded that they give her money for it - not just store credit - even though it was well past the return date.

When telling me this story, she acknowledged her crazy behavior by saying "haha I was acting like such a liberal."

In her mind, it's as simple as "liberal = bad". The actual definitions of words mean nothing to them.

  • Yeah Facebook was vastly different back in the day. Instead of having a shadowy algorithm deciding which posts to show you, you just got a chronological view of all your friends' posts. So during major events, you'd usually see lots of posts that taken out of context make absolutely no sense.

When Facebook moved to them deciding what you wanted to see, it completely changed the whole vibe.

  • Edited the order of events in my comment. Sounds like the confrontation didn't happen until after he grabbed his rifle.

  • I'd like to see the video as well. If anyone has a link, would appreciate it.

  • I dunno about that. The peacekeeper saw the dude go retrieve a rifle, confronted him, and he ran aiming the rifle at the crowd.

I suppose your argument is that the guy hadn't actually pulled the trigger when the peacekeeper acted? That seems insane to me.

The shooter and another person in a neon vest allegedly saw Gamboa separate from the crowd of marchers in downtown Salt Lake City, move behind a wall and withdraw a rifle around 8 p.m., Redd said.

When the two men in vests confronted Gamboa with their handguns drawn, witnesses said Gamboa raised his rifle into a firing position and ran toward the crowd, said Redd.

  • I'm so confused. Are they actually bragging about those things?

  • A tent managed by a beverage company handed out room-temperature bottles of an energy drink, Phorm. The flavor, called Screamin’ Freedom, tasted like hard candies dissolved in water, and an advisory on the cans warned that they were not to be consumed by minors or pregnant women.

If we saw this in a movie, we would laugh at how overly top unreal it was.

  • I tell you something. It's the We the People, right?!

  • Really? Do posts show as read for you? Maybe Lemmy.world is still running an old version of Lemmy. Once sh.itjust.works patched to a new version 8 or 9 months ago, Sync became completely unusable for me.

  • Not gonna lie, it brought a smile to my face when you were sitting in your house on a cool spring day, reading a somewhat plausible but lengthy story about a captivating subject. Then you got a slight suspicion that this story almost seemed too good. Too perfect for the situation. How could this random person on the Internet have such a great story about being a snake charmer, a stunt pilot, or whatever. Then it hits you just like when back in nineteen ninety eight the undertaker threw mankind off hell in a cell and plummeted sixteen feet through an announcers table.

  • I've been on sh.itjust.works for the last couple of years. The admins are cool as hell. Highly recommend.

  • I know right?!
