The italians invented lattes, cappuccinos, Americanos etc... most espresso based coffee finds its origin in Italy; it's just instant coffee and whatever it is Starbucks are doing that they tend to scoff at.
My cat is the same, but a method he can't get around is crushing and dissolving the pill in boiling water, then letting it cool down and using a water syringe to put directly on the tongue. Worth a try if he's beating every other scheme you've cooked up!
As someone currently having to medicate a cat 3 times a day. Dogs are definitely easier.
When my pupper had to have knee surgery, I could pretty much get her to take the pills raw if I had the right level of enthusiasm.
My little black and white ball of fury on the other hand? We've tried pill pockets, crushing the pills into food, treats etc... nothing worked.
To cut a long story short, my kitchen now looks like something out of a drug den. There's a pestle and mortar with this pink antibiotic stain from crushing the pills, the dust of which is poured into boiling water (to dissolve) and allowed to cool; thus allowing me to use a syringe to inject the drugs straight onto his tongue.
Slightly off topic, but If you have the time to travel; may I suggest looking into Interrail if you're not already aware of it. An interrail pass would be the European equivalent to an american road trip imo.
One train ticket helped me cover places like Portugal, Spain, and Italy, all the way through to Switzerland and onto Hungary, Poland etc and back home all over the course of two weeks.
I was backpacking solo, so just looked up hostels in whatever city i ended up in on the day. But you could just as easily use it to plan a family itinerary. The actual ticket lasts a lot longer than a fortnight too; I'm just a slave to the machine and couldn't get more time off.
All well and good until Mr mittens realises he gets a treat every time he jumps up next to the medicine cabinet, and Doris ends up having a feline induced overdose.
It specifies all of what they said in the article OP linked.
Midway through it mentions he migrated to the states in 1991 (which was ~34 years ago), and the final paragraph of the article is:
Noviello was charged with trafficking oxycodone and other illegal drugs, as well as racketeering and using a two-way communication device to facilitate criminal activity. He pleaded guilty to all charges in September 2023 after withdrawing an earlier plea of not guilty.
In February of this year, a judge granted Noviello’s request to convert the remainder of his two-year supervised community control sentence to probation
I believe this was actually more nefarious than simply 'your son was only worth this kitchen appliance'. As I understand it this publicity stunt was an attempt to displace media articles about the "russian meat grinder" (referring to their losses in their assaults on Ukraine).
Tbf, all of these things are on menus outside of north America (assuming that's what NA means ofc) including the cats and dogs.
Not for the fainthearted; but googling china dog festival should put any discussion otherwise to rest (TW: dead dogs).
Interestingly enough; the areas where you see dog and cat consumption aren't just found in areas of complete poverty. The meat tends to be consumed either as a necessity (as you alluded to) or a delicacy; it's never really a standard dish.
The more I think about it though; the less I'm surprised that billionaires would eat our pets and consider it a delicacy.
I often find that misappropriating an out of context Paul Rudd quote arguably condoning sexual harassment works perfectly to describe the level of effort one should put in;
"Work 60% of the time, Alllll the time"
Any more than 60% effort and it becomes a drain, any less and management will look to replace. 60% effort is the sweet spot for surviving corporate life rather than succumbing to it.
Religion has historically provided a safe haven to the sick and twisted among society, where they're allowed to act with impunity due to their perceived status.
That's not directly due to the religion; but rather due to the societal pedestal being devout seems to put people on; "a holy person could never do that to a child" etc...
The reality is, other areas that benefit from this sort of status too find themselves riddled with bad actors... Just look through charity organisations and I can guarantee you'll be combing over a sea of sociopaths buying themselves good credit with public opinion rather than people looking to make a difference because they want to (not to say these people don't exist; they just don't end up running the show normally)
Edit: linking to the video on FB doesn't seem to work. But there's no validation, so you can sign up using any email. I was able to watch it after entering the email fuck@you.com
Yeah that was my first thought too.
Haven't there been cases of legal US citizens being detained by ICE? Surely they wouldn't fit into any of those categories...
