  • The question implies that it was alive at some point. Was it though? All I know about Metaverse is that a lot of "tech" journalists were writing about it, but I don't know anyone who used it. And I owned a Meta Quest 2 for 6 months.

  • Specific Kitchen stuff

Oh, you know, the basic stuff. The oven, cooking surface, microwave, an area to work and cupboards to store dishes. It's just that when you're waiting for the kitchen, cooking is miserable and some dishes are out of question.

    e-book details

I got a Kindle Paperwhite 10 years ago. I've been reading a lot since then because it's a small device you can carry anywhere and read in public transport, for example. With paper books, it's not always as convenient. They can be too big and heavy to carry with you and you can't regulate lighting, etc. Of course, it's subjective. But for me, that was the turning point.

  • If we're talking about obvious things, getting a washing machine and kitchen with all that comes with it is a tremendous improvement in a new apartment.

If I had to pick something less obvious, I'd say for me it was an e-book. It's hard to measure the effect, but I mostly read non-fiction and knowledge creates a lot opportunities over time in private and work life.

  • I'm sure more people know C or Python than Ukrainian at Canonical. It looks like this particular change has been authorized by a third-party localization project, though I'm not sure the whole process works.

  • Swedish city tries to reduce pollution and noise

How does this help reducing noise? I think with modern cars, tires generate notably more noise than the engine unless the speed is below 30 km/h. I hear no difference between a petrol car and electric when they're driving past me at 50-60 km/h.

  • I don't have to block much (28), as beehaw is defederated from extremist and porn instances. I block memes, non-English speaking communities and niche stuff: from communities about life in Ontario to discussions about Star Trek. I just want to keep my feed more or less informative and interesting. I don't want to have an endless stream of content like I had it on reddit. It's bad for productivity.
