  • first question you'd need to answer is how joe-bob got into the web of trust in the first place. in order for them to abuse their position they needed to be added to your web.

literally what bluesky is doing with their filters.

if you want to automate it.... run statistical analysis on the user for how many people ban them. you eventually find the people who are heavy but accurate with the ban button and can use them as inputs. and can use them as early gauges for new accounts. combine that with account age and you'll eventually get a fairly robust and automated platform for banning misinformation accounts.

  • easiest path would be to sample from the group that voted. other options would include allowing anyone to vote, and split the pool of selected votes 50/50 between subscribers/general population.

example: 10000 votes are cast 1000 contributors, 9000 general pop. you sample both pools for 1000 votes (ensuring every paying person voice is heard) and tally them up. you can run the process a few times on the same pool of votes and take the average result to ensure that you didnt get a wild card rare result.

this way you balance both groups voices while still giving subscribers definite voice. reservoir sampling is the algorithm for vote sampling. it allows you to pick N elements from a set of M elements in a single pass.

  • like i said Im not your doctor. I dont know what meds or what you do in your free time. but the list of negative reactions is fairly limited and shrooms are alternatives for some. I use shrooms instead of ssri's for example.

but if your suffering from brain damage, which by definition is damage to your neurons and the connections between them you want something that stimulates neurogenisis to re-establish the network connections. its an active area of research. the 2nd link discusses the areas that psilocybin impacts, basically your entire cerebral cortex. the areas you're struggling with visual perception/comprehension/language are in the cerebral cortex.

so take what I said in the intention it was given, a path for you to look at and discuss with your doctor for risks/alternatives. a path that your doctor might not be willing to bring up themselves due to legality issues.

  • 10%/12% compared to what? those are just noise without the reference point. are we talking hospitalized cases? etc? those are already significantly reduced once you get the vaccine vs not vaxed.

if the reference point is after you already have an extremely severe case of covid then no shit it doesnt help by then your body is flooded with the virus. by the time that happens your immune system is already overwhelmed and of course being vaxxed isnt going to help in that scenario the payload in the environment is too high its going to do what its going to do.

Vaccines reduce the chance of a virus from reaching overwhelming loads within the body, if the virus manages to do it anyways then all vaccines do is help speed up the recovery at the point. they don't prevent the damage that can be caused once you hit high loads. they can reduce the severity of the damage by having the loads drop faster but not prevent, at the point you hit high viral loads your stuck with dumb luck for your outcome.

  • na, vaccines cause the immune response to be better overall. which also lowers the chances of extreme damage from occurring. you can think of death as the most extreme form of damage. but if it reduces death by 60% you'll see similar reductions for things like brain injury.

  • not a doctor: mild doses of magic mushrooms. anything that helps promote neurological connections/growth would be worth looking into. you'll still need to retrain your brain as well but you need the cells to do their thing and you to give them the right stims.

  • you're preaching to the choir (minus calling social progressives radical, they're fairly benign wanting whats best for others hardly radical.)

my point was the democratic party does not represent left wing politics and the person i was responding to was bitching about the democrats and blaming left wing politics.

  • basically they hijack dns resolution to return does not exist errors when requests are sent to the tracking systems. highly effective, but also many sites are negatively impacted by them because no one codes for failure in the web industry.

  • it can be fixed but would require herculean engineering efforts, the biggest problem atm is the canvas. most of the other things can be fixed via defaults that are returned to the webapps unless explicit permission to access them is granted. like there is never a reason to return errors for session storage if its disable. just return a memory implementation that doesn't persist beyond the window life. little changes like that would go a long way to removing the bits of information.

  • na you're just making assumptions instead of reading what is actually said. I have not made a statement about what paths I personally support, only that unless you take action personally non-sense about the practicality of a particular idea is self defeating. there are always challenges and struggles the point is to surmount them not wallow in self pity. again pointing to a personal issue with the person claiming impracticality. not with the person proposing and ideally taking action on a path.

  • all paths are practical and actionable, if you take action. but thats a you issue not a me or others issue. someone recently showed you a path to take that is effective and simple to do on your own. you're just not willing to consider it.
