Also having a GTR4 with GB, same idea. Still hate having to send them data by having to use their app on an initial pairing to get the damn key for the first time. Also, now that I changed phone, and using the pairing key on the new phone worked to get it to connect to my GTR4, it seems a bit less persistent connection than when it was paired from their app on the same device. Not sure what else changed, because it's in both cases pixel phones, running GrapheneOS.

What's your consideration for choosing this one? I would have thought ViT-B-16-SigLIP2__webli to be slightly more accurate, with faster response and all that while keeping a slightly less RAM consumption (1.4GB less I think).

Yeah...with any of these work profiles, I'm afraid there's no easy way to transfer them or back them up.

Use insular or shelter. Island is not on fdroid for a reason, i guess.

How do you go from an article about spyware on PHONES to recommend a LAPTOP? They are not the same thing. Do you carry this laptop in your pocket to receive phone calls and whatsapp your contacts?

Interestingly, the same mentioned article from Android Police sells it as a "privacy win". I've tried to read it as a positive spin, and I seriously don't understand what these guys have been smoking.

They can fight resist and delay. But they are doing literally nothing. They could have blocked the budget. But they said "nah, it would harm the people blocking it". So yeah they're doing nothing to stop them.

Democrats still got almost half the votes in the entire country and they aren't doing any efforts to represent their interests.

I mean, I can live without for the brief period where we'll be needing our AIs to run remotely. It would be within months probably that we'll have some free GPT4All implementation (or similar) running on a phone. There's already whisperAI running locally at decent speeds on a phone for STT, and there's SherpaTTS running Kaldi TTS also with pretty realistic results...all fully local, all available in f-Droid. I don't think there's anything stopping your phone from running a lower distilled model locally, if your RAM allows it.

Some apps can detect they have not been installed through the play store and will refuse to work. My banking app pulls this bullshit, among others.

But then... It's just Google.

Thanks... I had no idea this existed. I can now connect to the work remote desktop software with a single window perfectly integrated. This is incredibly helpful. Moreover I can now say I'm using Winapps in order to run Windows App. I guess now they can rename the remote desktop app again to Winapp to go full circle. Or maybe Winamp, just to confuse people. Or just App, to make it impossible to ever troubleshoot.

EDIT: At any rate, this works really beautifully. It's a bit of a PITA to set up if you're having the VM via virt-manager but hell if it's not as smooth as native.

KDE includes now a default option in their settings to do this. It's in the Colors & Themes > Night Light menu.

I mean if it's local network I'd use kde connect. It has a bazillion features, but sending files through the normal share button is one of them.
