  • It always comes down to making a profit, no matter the cost. And to keep the exec suite rolling in cash, of course.

  • look I'm really late and in a terrible hurry; mind your business.

  • It's almost 1pm and I feel like I still need coffee.

  • This thread exchange made me smile, and I had to show it to one of my partners while giving the rundown about Activity Pub.

    This shit is so neat.

  • BUSY and I've been paying attention to the news less and less. I have to.

  • That's the thing- you only need to have an account with one instance, and you can follow others from your "home" instance.

But I bring this up to bolster your point- Mastodon feels "clunky" because their onboarding process for new users is severely lacking, in my opinion.

It is offputting. It is intimidating. And that is a turnoff for a lot of people.

  • ugh, right? call me when he actually gets a consequence larger than a slap on the wrist.

  • Thank you for explaining! While I didn't like your initial comment, you definitely brought up some excellent points. I also agree that the FOSS community can be more welcoming.

And it's been great running into you around here. Hi!

  • Linux community has been better at being helpful, though, as the years passed.

Expecting a machine to hold your hand through your learning

Linux support forums might be hostile to entitled noobs looking for a handout and a quick fix

    ...but still freakin' insufferable.

Lime Buzz has a point here.

  • I can care about multiple things at once, is all; I can think about "frivolous" stuff along with other topics considered "far more important."

  • Hope you're being glib-- because censoring an open-source, more privacy-minded, and alternative operating system to Big Corpo is only an excuse and the continuation.

  • If you trust your local city officials, get them involved. If you trust your local police, alert them as well.

Agreed. What is WITH these IF statements!? ACAB includes the good ones, folks.
