Personal install from Playstore. I added my work email to Outlook on my personal phone, and I have it ignore notifications entirely outside of working hours. It works pretty great but there's no way to remove the ads because it's a work email, and the ads look like unread emails. It's horrible and I can't even do anything about it.
Even Canada doesn't have that implemented, I wouldn't count on that any time soon. In Canada, your wife could cut off your finger and cheat on you then file for divorce, then you'd have to give her half of your house (even if it was your childhood home you fully owned long before your marriage) and pay her alimony if you make more than her. Also if you have kids, she's very likely going to win custody of them.
Except if trans people defend themselves with firearms, they should expect to have the book thrown at them. It's not fair, it's fucked up, but it's something I could see happening.
I hate that the Outlook Android app has ads that appear like unread emails, and as far as I know you can't remove them (at least if you're using a company-provided email).
Directors are known for their valuable and unique skill sets, accountability, transparency, and sense of duty and responsibility. Of course it only makes sense for them to be paid well, duh.
Food is the only physical addiction that you can't quit for life or it will kill you. You don't need beer or cocaine or meth to live, you can live a full happy life without any of those. You can't live without food.
I think it's easy to blame a company for how they are handling this, but at the same time, if you're using a router that old you should probably already assume that it has vulnerabilities that haven't and probably won't be patched.
Because the rich pretend like it's in peoples interest, people believe them because oh they are rich they must know what they are talking about, and because people are stupid.
I think a lot of the future of social media is going to be determined by ease of use/beginner-friendliness.
The issue (and strength) with Lemmy is there's multiple instances. You're not gonna be able to explain it to non-technical people, even as an experienced programmer myself I sometimes find myself getting confused by Lemmy. People don't want to learn, they just want to use something that works.
Then again, KBin only had the one instance pretty much I think, and yet that died out anyway. So I think part of it is people just want to go where everyone else is, and that did end up being Lemmy and not KBin (although the maintainer of KBin also refused outside contributions which helped seal its fate lol)
If Bluesky has the one instance, and you literally just go to bsky.app and sign up, that's going to be a lot easier than trying to sell people on Mastodon or Lemmy when they Google those. Then again, I just googled Mastodon and it took me right to Mastodon.social so maybe I am mistaken.
