I may have goofed. Ordered some outdoor plants for our complete redo of the garden and without thinking rationally I just expected them to take 2-5 business days to arrive despite it being a local nursery, and I definitely didn't expect getting a knock on the door and hour and a half later with them.
And I can't even plant them this weekend due to the heat on Monday :(
Maybe we need a show where the battle isn’t against germs but against insurance and the clock
I don't think that show would perform well in the entirety of the rest of the westernised world, which means it won't make enough billions of dollars profit to be greenlit.
Well that sucks, but with the expected heat remember to not open your fridge or freezer during that time and to plan ahead for brekkie / elevenses / brunch / lunch and have a fallback plan for afternoon tea / dinner / supper for if it's off longer than expected.
IIRC a lack of water over a short period can promote stronger root growth in chillies so the week off may have benefited you against windy weather. Those are looking gorgeous!
Nice irrigation system btw! I need to build/install mine this weekend, but with Sunday being 30° and Monday being 40° it's going to end up into late next week isn't it?
I'm on the space side of the debate btw, so please let me know if this approach works better for you this season. Reason for my stance is that it gives them more room to grow and establish a root system that is more sturdily overwintered.
Also this season I found out that if you have 2+ seeds germinate in one jiffy pellet and you just yank the younger sprouting one with force ignoring any root care and place it in a second jiffy pellet that they don't care about their roots that early and, go on to thrive with no delay / lag in growth. Makes me wish I'd had never culled all but one multiple germinations in one cell.
It sucks, but! it's a valuable life lesson and learning experience so try and take it in your stride! I'll send you an Uber Eats voucher if you DM you email addy so you can get some free food as a reward.
The whole moving process truly sucks (I've moved 7 times in the past decade alone and started that decade with owning nothing in *this beautiful country).
I don't envy you as I remember what that's like and quickly learning that if the window for large items says 6am-9am that you'll always be the first (maybe only) delivery of the day for them so be at the new place for 5:30am ready for the inevitably early 5:45am delivery.
Also with the couch, don't they normally put all that together for you when they deliver and have you missed out on that service (I've never had to put together a couch myself)?
That's really odd. At the references stage it's as you'd expect - you've got the role barring
The references being terrible (like "I worked with this person and have nothing further to comment"). If you're suspicious of that being the cause you can request a full copy of your references and the detailed interviewer notes/feedback under GDPR, to which they must comply.
The role has been removed and doesn't exist any more. It happens sometimes and sucks for everyone on both sides of the fence. But you'd typically be told that was the reason why.
Stretching here: but it was a scam role to gather PII 🤷??
Again, really sorry that you're going through this!
Congratulations! 🎉 💍 🥳
