Took myself to the movies to see the national theatre production of Macbeth (with David Tennant). They have a bunch that have been filmed while on West End and are now touring in cinemas around the place. Really enjoyed it - Macbeth, awesome stage and music design, David Tennant in all his kilted glory.
Now I am just fighting the urge to nap instead of putting the groceries away. Sigh.
Has anyone ever done any icebreakers that don't suck for a group of friendly but introverted IT types?
I have a couple of newbies starting and want to help them get to know people but we are a naturally introverted lot. We are going to do a bit of a cake and chat before the next team retro. Do I let the awkward convos ...sorta flow? Should I just get everyone to introduce themselves formally (small team - they will have met the newbies) or is there any non sucky thing that helps people relax and chat?
This will be an in person thing.
I used to get up consistently between 5:30 and 6. Start work around 7:30 and early lunch, early knock off..but I have been getting later and later lately. Need to get back into it.
I woke up at 4:45 and at the time decided to roll with it and actually join my 5am online yoga class live instead of waiting for replay (teacher is USA based). Regretting it now - so tired and so much of the work day left
I felt the same. Liked some little vignettes in there. I thought the feel of the land post climate change was really good - but .... The story telling was really clunky. I didn't really care about the people? I dunno...left me...dunno...
I know some people who have used it. I have used it for a night or two as a reset but find I wake up pre dawn. Peoples' mileage varies...
As an aside I have a friend that's a long time insomniac/delayed sleep person. They have recently started drinking cherry juice at night - apparently it's an amazing natural source of melatonin and has actually helped them. This is someone that's previously tried melatonin, sleeping tablets, GABA etc and been down many medical rabbit holes so I trust they are not just jumping on some wellness bandwagon.
I buy dishwash liquid and dishwasher stuff from source bulkfoods. Both are good, as is their laundry powder. You can buy a reusable bottle or take your own. I also don't mind ecostore brand too.
