Honestly I think some of the older dubs are the best (your cowboy bebops, your Gurren laganns, and even silly shows like Ouran High School Host Club had great casts), back when the industry still had passionate and skilled actors. Now it's well known that anime voice acting pays for shit and all the talent has left for greener pastures—and I don't blame them.
Now it feels to me like most dubs get stuck with VAs just at the start of their careers and it really shows... Most dubs make me cringe nowadays with the acting.
Plus, I feel like you get a more accurate translation with subs because they're not trying to fit tweaked dialog into previously-animated mouth movements.
I used to really advocate for dubs and preferred them, but my stance has flipped quite a bit in recent years. Kinda sad to see them decline so much :(
So I don't think this is a specifically Fromsoft issue. Lots of Japanese game companies struggle with that, and it seems to be because the lion's share of Japanese gamers use consoles, not PC. So I think a lot of Japanese companies don't have a ton of experience optimizing for PC.
I've been excited for this ever since they released the promo artwork! The speculation I've seen is that we'll probably see at least a trailer at the game awards, and probably a full drop by February—based on financial projections for the game released by Kadokawa (the parent company).

This doesn't read soulless corporation to me. This reads Todd Howard's bruised ego. He's one of the directors of the whole studio after all, and could very well be behind this decision.

It also, to me, really takes Bethesda's mask off and reveals what their culture must be as a company. Based on these responses, they seem so convinced that they shit gold that they've stopped entertaining feedback or trying to innovate much in their games much at all. Kinda confirms some of the criticism I've seen of them since Fallout 4 and 76 came out.
This exactly. Plus, people around those areas generally have no idea how to drive in that weather so it gets substantially more dangerous just to be out and about. Even if you know what you're doing to at least stay safe, you can't assume Joe Shmoe flying onto the highway in his jacked up dodge ram has any clue.

Interest rates should never have been that low to begin with. It was basically free money for the wealthy, and it's how housing became such an investment for big businesses. The rates we have now are still at historic lows, they just feel high compared to the bonkers low rates of the last couple decades. I understand the frustration 100%, but lowering the rates again is NOT the answer at all.
We hit $200 very easily just buying household essentials, it seems like. Heaven help us if we need paper towels, toilet paper, contact solution, the 'cheap' shampoo and conditioner, plus a few cleaning supplies all at the same time. $200 comes at you fast on those shopping days.
You guys are all over thinking this. A lot. I'm pretty sure it's because basically all porn has a very loud female role and a near silent male role. There's been lots of studies on how porn affects people's actual sex lives. Vocalization is a part of that. Girls watch it in formative years, learn "This must be what my partner will find hot," just like tons of other emulated behavior from other media. Boys do the same.
This is the first Bethesda game that I'm not sure mods can truly save... At least not quickly. They'd almost have to make a totally different game :/
