How to make showering not boring?

  • The water takes a couple minutes to warm up after it's turned off. If I were to turn off the water for each task, showering would take even longer as I wait for the water temperature to normalize itself again

  • It's a reference to an infamous 4 panel comic strip called "loss". It's one of them ancient memes from 2008. If I remember correctly, the story of the comic is that the dude rushes in to the hospital to find his pregnant wife had just lost their baby or something.   • I'm wondering how people take showers shorter than 20 minutes. My normal shower routine takes 30-40 minutes, even longer if I need to shave intimate parts. if I'm in a real hurry and skip shaving altogether I might make it in 20 minutes. I have long hair, so I need to apply shampoo, rinse, apply some more shampoo, rinse, apply conditioner, while it soaks I wash my face with gentle face wash, soap up my body, shave, then rinse.... It's a long process.

    • If everyone had access to healthcare the net benefit of treating the mental illness and other disabilities holding them back would easily cover the cost of the healthcare itself.

  • Omg YES. I am so tired of seeing bad news all the time, all it does is ruin your day. I come to Lemmy to unwind and escape reality, to look at some funny memes and forget my life for a bit, not to be constantly reminded of all the horrible things happening in the world.

  • Germany: 4 years elementary school, after that the kids are divided into 3 school categories based on their performance:

    Hauptschule 5-9, after that you either start apprenticeship for 3 years and learn a profession, or you continue with Realschule

    Realschule 5-10, after that you either start apprenticeship for 3 years and learn a profession or you continue with Gymnasium

    Gymnasium 5-12, after that you may apply for university. You can only enroll in university if you have completed grade 12 final exams (called Abitur)

    In Germany kids are required to be enrolled in school or in apprenticeship by law until they turn 18

    If you happen to go to a school where your parent is employed, you will never land in a class that your parent is teaching. Homeschooling is also forbidden by the way.
