I’m much better adapted to the cold, so it’s in no way painful (unless I were to pass out in it or try to build a snowman without gloves or something). For me, even German summers are so unpleasantly warm that I can’t eat enough calories without being fully nocturnal. People tend to have a temperature and humidity range that works well for them, and they only adapt to new environments slowly

My “picker” was broken for many years, so I have a bunch of crazy exes. The common denominator among them was me, but that doesn’t mean I was a bad person, just that I didn’t know what to look for when dating (plus I’m autistic and a bad judge of character). I did eventually have to work on that before I could start dating and trusting people again.
Just because you’re the common denominator doesn’t mean that you’re an asshole. Predators often seek out traumatized people, but you’ll have to work on making yourself a bad target for them if you want to avoid them. I’m sorry, it’s not fair.

I’m from Connecticut, and we’re all still mad about it, so it always sticks out to me when someone thinks he was a democrat at the time (he did generally caucus with democrats, but was very pro-business. He was not elected again.
I take adhd medicine in Germany that I also took in the US. In the US, I had to pay $50 for a doctor’s appointment, ~$200 for a drug test to make sure I was taking it and only it, and then $220 for one month of the generic brand. Then, when I hit my deductible in about June, the drug test was free, my appointment was $30, and the medication was $50. For this privilege, I paid $13k/year in premiums. In Germany, I get insurance for about €140/month while working part time at a bakery, then all my required appointments are free, no drug test, and I get two months of the brand name medication for under €16.
I was making over $60k/year in the US, not living in a major city. I now earn a few euros more than minimum wage at a part time job in Germany. Things are significantly more affordable here.
