  • This. It takes a bit to figure out the rhythm, but it’s not hard once you know how it feels. If you do try it, definitely be prepared to be frustrated at least once and stall the car at least more than once (I know I did)!

Once you figure it out, though, it can be much more fun and engaging (and sometimes more annoying) than an automatic.

EDIT: that said, if you’re really concerned about it, don’t be ashamed to rent the automatic!

  • Haven’t been back since the API and third party app thing, and it’s amazing how much crap I was scrolling through just because it was there. Lemmy’s been great. It was really slow in the beginning, two years ago, but it continues to get progressively better. Love to see it.

    Fuck spez.

  • “Dear fans,

“We’ve seen the feedback online that everyone is unhappy that our new generation of hardware and software is too expensive. Nintendo listens to customer feedback, and we appreciate your enthusiasm for Nintendo products!

“In response to the community, we’ve updated our license agreement so that if you even think about not paying us, we’ll kick you off ALL our stuff and cancel every other Nintendo thing you have! We’ll even send a brute squad to your house and smash your legacy NES we can’t brick remotely in front of your kids! Nobody messes with Nintendo!

“Now, get out there, and buy, buy, buy!

“Sincerely, your friendly, caring buddies at Nintendo.”

  • But you mean your company isn’t willing to make a years long investment in on-shore manufacturing capacity when the scales that make it advantageous to the company can change in any direction, at any point, for any made-up reason, by any amount? Don’t they love investing in America?

  • For real.

The exact same meal for my family, after they eliminated all the good coupons in the app in the last year — but especially after they stopped doing the BOGO$1 deal for cheeseburgers, went from $17 to $43. There are a lot of food options for that price, and McDonald’s isn’t at the top of that list. If anything, it’s just made me return to cooking more at home, rather than going to a sit-down restaurant.

McDonald’s was fast, good, and cheap. The last one is no longer true and, because of the price, the middle (compared to other options at the price point) isn’t either. So why should I care how fast it is unless that is literally my only condition to consider?

  • To a certain extent, I agree with you. It is even in their own book— turning the other cheek. And despite everything, I think kindness always counts.

That said, there comes a point where I feel I need to see if I can drag the horse to the water rather than hoping it will follow me there. If it doesn’t, perhaps it is a lost cause and I should go find another horse. Know what I mean?

It’s just hard to find where that moment is, especially if it is family.
