  • Two year anniversary just a few days ago. Also left when RiF stopped working. Really nice to see Lemmy activity continually going up with each passing day, but the quality hasn’t gone down. Very much enjoying it!

  • No, at least not right away. Maybe in a few years, but I’m just not that excited about it.

I want physical, offline carts, not game keys. I specifically buy local media so I don’t care about internet availability or connectivity. Not interested in wading through the minutiae of what games are which, so in the end I’m just not buying anything. And I say this as someone who has bought nearly 50 Switch 1 games.

  • Sometimes things end because someone wants something the other doesn’t. That’s ok. It’s life.

But if you never take the shot, then you’re keeping something alive in hopes of some potential future breakthrough, and that’s not fair to you (or them) either.

So, rip the bandaid off and commit. If that’s not what she wants, that’s on her, and you can move on.

And please, please, please remember— her mental health issues are her own and not yours to solve or navigate like a minefield.

  • If you haven’t, I recommend checking out his book, too! Takes the video explanation style he has and turns it into text format and it works really well. My kids are fascinated by it. Maybe a future engineer in the making!

  • Ooo just thought of another. Animagraffs — https://youtube.com/@animagraffs

Takes large scale things (Hoover Dam, locomotive, F1 car, etc) and breaks them down into their components in a long-scale video format (30+ minutes). It’s oddly soothing to watch.

I think the Steam Locomotive one is my favorite so far. https://youtu.be/Hszu80NJ438

  • Proper pest control. Hire a professional to complete a service as often as is needed. Mine comes once a quarter and covers both inside and outside of the house. Very convenient.
