Having worked on these systems, datacenters in space still don't make any economical sense to me. Cost of shipping, additional power and thermal limitations/challenges, much greater radiation environment causing corruption and premature hardware failures, and little to no maintenance/upgrade opportunities. Zero sense
What I mean is one side is having their homes bombed and lives uprooted (or just lost altogether) while the other side watches from the side lines. Innocent civilians killed in the streets. Women, children, actual babies killed for money. Disgusting
Mechanical engineering lead, and I'm at ~130k. About double the median in my area, so pretty comfy. I develop new technologies from initial concept to final products that can be brought to market.
As someone who has used both. Immich is much more polished now. Very snappy, and lightweight compared to running a full nextcloud instance. It's also better at face detection and tagging photos. I can search "breaker panel" and immediately find what I'm looking for.
I think this lasts until ~10, then my spouse elbows me and tells me to roll over
