Mine is singularly uninspiring. I learned that there were federated options for a reddit-like experience, stood up an instance, and thought this is good enough. Then I whacked out my account on reddit.
One of my cats would meow in alarm when I would take a shower. She wasn't stupid but couldn't grasp the concept of a human being not able to bathe themselves in the same manner as cats. She had the most pitiful and strident meows protesting my decision to shower.
HAHAHA! There's more than a nugget of truth to this. But seriously, I know some cats that will only eat when someone is standing guard over them. By instinct, cats that have closely bonded will guard one another when eating or toileting because they're at their most vulnerable during these activities.
Ah that is a today I learned moment. I knew that Torties are 99% female and Gingers are like 99% male as well. I've really only been owned by 2 cats both black. One named Ashleigh and the other Windy. I only had Windy for 3 months before she finally passed from Feline Leukemia. I had Ashleigh for 19 wonderful years.
AI is a tool that can be used for beneficially and harmfully. Unfortunately, I see it being used harmfully because violence, harm, and trauma are profiting ventures.
I don't hate women. Dating is really hard for me because I am a guy with a mental illness. I think it is only natural that we look for the closest thing to perfection in a mate. As a single guy approaching middle age at 46, I would love to date. It's just really hard for me. I may hit off with someone but when the imperfections come out, suddenly she has somewhere else to be. I would not consider myself an incel because I am not misogynistic in any way. It can be frustrating to put oneself out there only to be repeatedly rejected - I mean people have real feelings.
Lemmy is young. There is a lot to be desired about it but I generally like to avoid negative words when it comes to open source because open source is a net positive for the computing world. Given time, Lemmy will get better. The Lemmy devs are doing this work uncompensated and gratis. They're passionate about principles of open software, freedom of speech and expression, and a generally anti-corporate world view. I can and do get behind this and can thus put up with imperfections in an implementation. What I don't understand is actually why people will tolerate bugs in a software that they've paid for. To use an analogy, I wouldn't tolerate my car just randomly stalling. I would be knocking down the doors of the manufacturer yet we shrug our shoulders at the utter rubbish that corporations like Adobe and Microsoft churn out all of the time.
PeerTube and the fediverse at large do not lend themselves to earning a money. That is an appreciably difficult situation to be in. I suppose the most one could hope for is to gain some fame and having someone sponsor them through something like Patreon.
Aye! For sure I did get lucky. As a personal thank you to her for her pragmatism and understanding, I did the technology for her campaign when she ran for reelection for free.
