  • Where was the homosexuality in that movie? Was there a gay couple for a couple of seconds when they first arrived in the real world?

I'd guess they are just having a problem with the ideas about patriarchy that it puts out there and banning it for homosexuality is just something that's easy to do?

  • I think the most important part is that it launched without DRM on GOG and was able to be pirated from day 1 and it STILL was a huge success because people knew that the game isn't trying anything shady to get even more money from you

It's just something people actually want to support and not like people feel like even if they buy the game they only have half an experience if they don't spend more money later

I really hope the next financial report from Larian is making people think differently about the necessity of putting aggressive DRM in their games

People don't pirate because they don't want to pay - they pirate because they don't trust the game to bit pull more shady shit later and not be worth it in the end

  • I really hope they take a good look and overthink their approach even if that means more delays.

With their last games their track record looks more as if they are about to make a new Assassin's Creed game as the next Dragon Age Installment

  • While at the same time projecting those groups as privileged compared to them

Jews can at the same time be the powerful secret rulers of the world but also just a "subhuman" according to them.

Populism tells people that they are better than others but are also worse off than those that they are better than so they don't have to feel bad to attack those

  • But everyone can host their own server?

Also because you can't be sure with an open source application like matrix you should trust applications like those linked here that are either closed source or centralised?

Especially since it has.the crypto included by default makes me very sceptical of it.

Also why compare 2 tools that no-one heard of and is using and not add stuff like signal or matrix to the comparison? Probably since it would've let those 2 look worse?

  • As someone from Germany that's the first time in reading that it was ever a thing for trains

Pretty much all our rails have electric lines on top and most trains are working electrically already

I really don't see a point to waste hydrogen on cars or trains where pure electricity is working fine

Planes seems to be the main target that absolutely will never work electrically so it needs hydrogen - there even was an article about a ship running on batteries a couple of days ago

  • The "funny" thing is that the moment those people have power they don't have a problem going against free speech (see having books banned (in the US) or trying to stop people from voicing their opinion (Meloni in Italy))

It's all just exploiting the tolerance of the system in order to make it less tolerant That's why completely unchecked free speech is a bad idea as it will eventually lead in its complete demise

  • No - if you make the funding independent from taxes then it doesn't have to be in favour of the government.

The German publicly funded journalism is a mandatory payment by everyone unrelated to their taxes (which makes it a favourite target for right wing people claiming it's unfair because it's too liberal for their taste when it's literally the definition of fact and science based centrist reporting)

The are often critical with the government and not propaganda at all.

  • Or just carbon tax the plane fuel in general - makes flying more expensive when it's a full plane but would effectively cut off those practices since there are not enough people to spread the cost around

Why do you think it's a good idea to NOT tax people flying as well?

  • Isn't the number one reason cheap meat since they need shittons of antibiotics in factory farming?

I'd assume that it's more of a correlation that people in less polluted cities are richer on average and eat less of the really shitty meat that has the highest chance to carry that kind of bacteria?

  • I always wonder if the people that are so hard against systemic/structural racism are really thinking that they are being oppressed if someone tries to address that or if they are fully aware of the advantages they have just because they are born with the "right" skincolor in the right neighbourhoods and are against it for purely egoistic reasons because they don't want to lose that advantage

  • Yeah I'm not denying that

It's not uncommon in summer but to that extent it is - and my comment only said that it's not an autumn thing in Germany and I stand by that since it's usually only happening during summer storms or in winter

In autumn it usually just rains since we don't have those extreme short storms after a calm day the same way we have in summer and hail only happens with those

  • Pretty sure summer isn't over

Weather is just in complete chaos right now and probably for the the foreseeable future.

Wouldn't be surprised if we'd get more than 30° again before August is over.

Also hail isn't a thing in autumn in Germany usually.
