  • The problem with mob justice is that it can be leveraged directly in to fascism. This is exactly what happened with the French Revolution and the Soviet one. In both cases valid anger against oppression was directed in to paranoia that allowed for the reestablishment of an authoritarian order instead of liberation. Anger is foolish and easily manipulated. That's why it's the only emotion the right wants anyone to experience. That's why it's the only emotion patriarchy allows men to express.

Anger is good for destroying things. Some things need to be destroyed. But those things that need to be destroyed are systems, not people.

Anger is activating and should absolutely drive you to action, but the action you take shouldn't also be decided by the anger. Let anger wake you up, and compassion guide the action you take.

  • I love that the acorn has creepy squirrel hands.

  • The subject is called "economics."

  • Any time someone criticizes Biden a bunch of liberals crawl out of the woodwork and yell about how you're pro-Trump and a Russian asset and all sorts of shit like that. What you quoted is mostly sarcasm.

  • Liberal democracy was a scam before Putin was born. Putin just exploited it's weakness, like all fascists do.

  • It depends on the city. I'd argue that cities and towns are the best places to push good urban planning, the problem is that it's a lot of work. It always feels like less work to start something from scratch and in a lot of cases it may be but I don't think "throw everything away and start again" really aligns well with the world we're trying to create.

  • Yeah, I mean, beyond senile. He doesn't even pass for human, he's indistinguishable from a racist LLM. Fuck he's not even an LLM, he's a Markov model.

  • Trump makes the DNC a lot of money, why would they give that up? They're either too dumb to understand the danger or they've already got their foreign passports ready on their private jets. One side is useless and the other is stupid Hitler.

The US government has no future. Organize as though fascism is guaranteed, vote to delay it as long as possible so you have more time to organize.

  • He can't do the job. He's a terrible candidate and he's not mentally fit. His only qualification is that he's not openly fascist. Definitely vote for the not fascist, but that won't stop fascism in the long run.

Being forced to choose between senile and psychotic is fucking bullshit, and I'm sick of being told to just suck it up.

  • Do you have a more racist metaphor or are you just keeping it at dog whistles?

  • Remember that any criticism of Biden, no matter how legitimate, is definitely pro-trump Russian propaganda. God forbid people don't just want to vote against something.

At the end of the day, this is how it is. The system is absurdly broken. We couldn't possibly be here if it wasn't. The fact that they keep shoving Biden at us doesn't mean that we shouldn't choose him over the much more overt fascist Trump, but it also doesn't mean that we should accept him.

No matter who's elected, everyone should fucking riot.

  • If you ever drive through rural America, you'll usually at least see one or two crosses, often on telephone poles, on rural roads. People, often teenagers, die pretty regularly in rural America because of drunk driving.

Some people like it. Some people are just numb to it. It's just insane to expect people not to when bars are the only social space in a lot of these towns, and those bars are not accessible by anything but car. There is no such thing as a taxi for most of the US (space wise, not population wise).

  • Not directly, but they have an indirect effect. The more one aligns with the state, especially in a fascist state like Israel, the less likely they are to experience violence. The less trauma they have. The more access they have to good and stable jobs.

So oppositional groups tend to be more fragmented (so more subcultures) and have less money. So, no, not directly but there's definitely an indirect relationship.

  • Governments and their people rarely agree. Those that do agree are a vocal minority that's always amplified. While I don't believe Israel should exist, a county isn't it's government and its dominant group.

There are Israelis risking prison and possibly their lives trying to stop what their government is doing.

  • They don't plan on having elections anymore either way.

  • It's called "bringing food" or "going home." It's what people have done for thousands of years. Fuck, go buy some prepared food at a supermarket. This is not rocket science. I've never been forced to spend $70 on food while I was out. That's not a thing.

Edit: look, if your position is that everyone should be able to eat when they're out and not have to plan as much then great, we're on the same page. Everyone should be able to eat out occasionally, or maybe even regularly. If your position is that you should be able to eat an expense meal and not care about the people who served you, then fuck you.

Edit: also, if you aren't getting paid enough to pay service workers maybe you should go on strike.
