  • Yes, because a lack of a pair of shorts and tshirt are the reasons why. /s

Have a home gym don't have a treadmill or stationery bicycle, to me that is weird, I can run around outside and I have a bike that i ride regularly. That said, decent gym equipment is expensive.

Im 58, I've been lifting weights since I was 17, (with some breaks) for me it's more like meditation. You can't win at it and it's not a game. My parter lifts with me, she said she likes it, so i will take her at her word.

There's any number of studies showing how good resistance training is for you, especially as you age.

Henry Rollins did the best reason why.

  • Australia's hypocrisy is ubiquitous on much of this

Australia has the worst record of any nation for jailing and abusing climate protestors, as one example of perhaps not throwing stones

Australia leads the world in arresting climate and environment protesters

We regually kill people in custody, yet to see any black lies matter protests in Australia becase we give few fucks.

I find the entire thing bemusing as though we aren't sone of the worst arseholes in the world, we send people who legally arrive in Australia to internment camps off shore, were they are treated so badly they suicide. We deport "criminals" overseas Now (like the US is doing) we sieze and copy peoples computers and phones at the border, we have invasive anti privacy laws and when some other country does it we get "oh my god" here.

  • I thought he was actually denied entry becase he was found to be lying on his visa over past drug use, where he had, but said he hadn't ?

  • I have one as well (own launcher aa well) but the perennial "when in heck will they update it" becomes an issue. It is getting old now. I use Kodi and YT Next mostly but supplemnt that with some local Australia FTA TV apps (ABC and SBS). I mean where else can we get such awesome TV as "Black As"

  • Sorry to thread jack. One little app I miss from Windows is a simple screengrab annotator? Wondering if people have anything to recommend.

Eg to circle some on screen text, add an arrow and maybe add some of my own text.

I cant get my Loigtech KB to screen grab, so I just use the Screengrab app in Mint, which is fine but zero annotation abilities.

I have tried Flameshot but it is a shitshow and doesn't work properly and is unstable (for me) and doesn't allow me to put it in the clipboard and paste in say Signal.

  • I don't really get the whole NAS thing i must admit. Most of what I read about what people are doing is enabling slacker family and friends ? (That's not a critisism, just an observation)

I have a TV, a HDD connected on the router and Kodi on the Nvidia Shield Pro. Any music is stored on my phone, or streamed via Netradio

I very occasionally copy media across to my phone to watch and then... it sits there and I dont watch it.

My parter uses Kodi on the TV occasioanly.

I don't stream anything aside from some YT occasionally (DIY etc)

I get people do endless shit with their NAS, or server but I'm am retired and don't have the time

Books are managed via Calibre on a a Kobo.

  • We shouldn't but we probably will. Australian voters have near zero support for climate change action aside from pearl clutching.

  • Based on how we vote, the articles headline seems unlikely.

  • All the downvotes, what's wrong with my comment?

It's a stupid as saying that Russia has shot down F16s in Ukraine therefore The US has no power to project.

  • My.apologies :(

  • Why ? People are doing it to avoid tax, dumping huge numbers of industrialial properties, houses or farms into their SMSF. Once again to AVOID tax, so fuck 'em. All of that penalises young people who then have a higher tax burden now.

Once agin this is a extra tax on amounts OVER $3 Million. Currently something like $500k-$1Mil is about the amount recommended for people to have a comfortable retirement.

    https://www.abc.net.au/news/2025-05-29/leading-tax-expert-superannuation-first-step-to-broader-reform/105347654

They want to pass that on to people in the next generation and they're not going to pay any tax on it because the value is never realised, the gain is never realised."

I supoort the Greens $2Million limit and indexed

  • Much like Obama, too much expectation, deleivered much of nothing, not bad per se, just medicore with a smile.

The arrogant prick to whom she refered is now the Deputy PM.

  • I kind of prefer riversand , a better "expereince"!

  • Forefox, also Chromium occasioanly of I am in a hurry and some asshat makes it difficult to use Firefox.

    Playing with Zen.

    My OS is Linux Mint

  • Do I just have shitty people around me or is this just what guys deal with?
