  • Just make sure you have port 53 and 80 open. I recently had some problems myself trying to get Pi-Hole up and running. I already had dnsmasq taking up port 53 for a wifi hotspot, which conflicts with Pi-Hole's own DNS. Aside from that, hosting any websites can also conflict with Pi-Hole's frontend.

If you aren't using your Pi 3 for anything yet then I already assume this shouldn't be a problem though.

Good luck and have fun setting up your Pi-Hole!

  • If you want to take it to the extreme, Alpine is probably one of the best options.

  • How do you find the courage to do that? For me that would feel like a crime punishable by death.
\ I hate seeing people abuse their books in horrendous ways, but maybe I'm just overly OCD.

  • Obviously.

  • Yeah, that's what I was worried about.

  • Just to name a few for now:

Also, I'd like some feedback on this list. I could theoretically add a few more, but that's probably not necessary and would just overwhelm any newcomers.

  • Looks good so far! I've never heard about Propaganda in the Information Age, The Reactionary Mind and Bowling Alone. I'll probably add them to my list though.

Maybe it would also be a good idea to add some shorter texts as a simple and introductory primer? Something that's only a few pages long. I know a few if you would like some suggestions.

  • a fantastic resource

    Not just any fantastic resource...

    Probably the best resource.

Maybe creating a reading list for this Community and pinning it to the top also wouldn't be a bad idea.

  • No, sadly not. In northern Germany we don't often see much wildlife, aside from the occasional deer or rabbit. We do have plenty of seagulls though.
