One of the favorite stories is about the first time I took my wife to England. She majored in British literature in college and is the type of person who reads Shakespeare for fun, and can even read and speaks middle English. I worked and traveled to England a few times a year and had lived there in my early 20s, before we met.
For our fifth anniversary I took her to England. It was her first time ever leaving the US. In fact the first time she left the southern US.

So, I asked Chat GPT to write a quick PowerShell script to find the number of months between two dates. The first answer it gave me took the number of days between them and divided by 30. I told it, it needs to be more accurate than that, so it wrote a while loop to add 1 months to the first date until it was larger than the 2 second date. Not only is that obviously the most inefficient way to do it, but it had no checks to ensure the one in the loop was actually smaller so you could just end up with zero. The results I got from co-pilot were not much better.
From my experience, unless there is existing code to do exactly what you want, these AI are not to the level of an experienced dev. Not by a long shot. As they improve, they'll obviously get better, but like with anything you have to keep up and adapt in this industry or you'll get left behind.
My daughter's cat loves to eat hair ties. She also throws up said hair ties every time. She will go to any lengths to find a hair tie to eat, then throw up.
Dog #1, will scratch at the door to come in. But what she really wants is dog 2 to go outside. So when I open the door, she twirls around and barks trying to get the other dog to come play. Dog 2 will then run over and they'll start playing across the threshold preventing me from closing the door. If dog 2 doesn't show up, then dog 1 will run back into the yard, then try again 2 minutes later. I spend an inordinate amount of time trying to get my dogs inside on a daily basis.
Dog #2, does this annoying lip smacking thing in the middle of the night and early in the morning. It is not a pleasant sound to wake up to.
I have a dog that's a licker too. The worst part is she has a huge slobberly tongue. I'll just be sitting there minding my own business and boom, my arm is soaking wet.
My German is limited to what I remember from taking high school German nearly 30 years ago (basically cursing and asking how much the calculator costs), so I figured it was safe for me to post them.
I've dealt with that all my life. Recently it got so bad that I was waking myself up in the middle of the night with these thoughts. I just got a prescription for lorazepam and it has helped more than anything I've tried. I hate sleeping pills because they give me a hungover feeling in the morning. This one just shuts down the anxiety so I can sleep naturally.
That would be awesome, but her accent is not that strong. She grew up in the suburb.
