  • If you don't mind, what set of skills got you employed ?

  • My first distro was ubuntu 11.04 if I remember correctly.

  • Thanks, now my phone has been infected by the Scarlet rot. Now I need to rest my phone on a site of grace to clear the status effect.

  • Thanks for the details. Surprisingly I have a similar setup using Nova Launcher but I'm using gestures on the homescreen in general rather than individual app icons.

I think your approach is more intuitive. I need to fiddle with my launcher settings or maybe consider using action launcher to incorporate that into my setup.

    • Icons: Your Circle Icon pack. Each icon my homescreen is a folder disguised as an app.
    • Search dock has been configured to use ChatGPT's voice feature as it sounds much more natural than Google Assistant or Bixby.

I kind of wanted my homescreen to have that Material Gruvbox look but the icons are a tad bit brighter which breaks the design language.

  • Can you suggest me some alternatives to SimpleLogin ? Would appreciate it if its free to use, as my usage is very basic.

  • God probably exists outside of our understanding . There may be things different from atoms, that we humans are not able to conceptualize. So god may very well be made out of something other than atoms.

  • Thats a neat wallpaper. What launcher are you running on your phone ?

Those icons are also gorgeous. Is it a one ui based icon pack ?

  • What anime is that from ?

  • I just installed sway, will try comparing the performance of games in both WMs.

  • Thank you so much for this. Worked like a charm.

Now I can finally get started with that 2nd play through of Elden Ring I have been contemplating since the news of the DLC.

  • Thanks, I just checked the output on the terminal and it's like @Nerdulous@lemm.ee mentioned.

  • Hehe, any kind of ricing can be taken too far.

Funnily enough I recently switched from WM's to DE (and KDE plasma at that) so that I don't spend entire days adjusting making pointless window border customization and autostart scripts that are already taken care of by a Desktop environment.

That said, I cant live without my keybinds so I've replicated the same on my Plasma setup.

  • I believe there is an add on called "Tab stash" or something like that on firefox. It stashes tabs so that the use can restore them later.

It's been some time since I last used it. seeing your comment just reminded me of it. Thanks

  • You can try Floorp browser (based on firefox) it hides the default tab bar and looks similar to vivaldi browser.

Also it has tree style tabs built in, you just have to enable it.

  • I only see an option to open the player in a new window. I didn't see anything related to external players.

One thing I could try is to run stremio and mpv on a distrobox Archlinux container and see of it does the job.

Edit: can confirm that running stremio in an arch distrobox does work.

  • As someone from India, I agree with you.

I guess people just want to use what everyone else uses. Using something different than windows is instantly assumed to be very difficult.

I even showed my friends how they can play games on linux instead of having their laptops get stuck while using windows 11 , but they still won't even consider trying it.

Btw if you don't mind - do you play apex legends ? (Judging by your username)

  • A few days ago I started using NixOS as my daily driver. I am yet to understand how to use home-manager and the nix language but right now I'm good with the main configuration.nix and fleek.

  • I don't think so. As long as you are not in some shady third party fork, you will be okay.

I have been using telegram forks for some time now, never encountered a ban or anything like that.
