  • Bruh I just got the OnePlus 12... Welp..

Pixel pricing is horrendous in my region anyway.

  • My msi motherboard randomly erases boot entries, I have to keep the computer on for a few minutes and reboot so that my other boot entry appears.

It maybe a problem with the m.2 slot, but it has been the case ever since I bought the motherboard.

Anyways I'm gonna stick to a different manufacturer for my motherboard if I'm building a new PC.

  • I use a firefox addon to hide shorts. works most of the time I guess.

  • I was surprised to see moondrop releasing an android device. If they can keep it affordable it will sell well.

  • I still try interesting distros but the ones I daily drive are usually Arch or Tumbleweed (Void linux came close)

My favourite arch based distro is CachyOS so far, been working really well for me for the past 5 months or so.

  • I daily drive Window managers but occasionally I also check out Desktop environments. Here is my personal preference -

    DE

    1. XFCE
    2. KDE
    3. Cinnamon

    WM

    1. Hyprland
    2. BSPWM
    3. Openbox / Labwc
  • Don't wait. Get Linux Mint Cinnamon / LMDE on a USB and install it.

If you don't like Debian based or Linux Mint for some reason, then check out Nobara or Fedora KDE spin. EndeavourOS is also great.

  • Hah.. I used to search up an issue and see my own unanswered question on reddit as the first result. ΰ² _ΰ²

  • Nah it needs more red, but it's getting there.

  • Thats a cool feature for sure but I don't trust opera.

  • I have used Freebsd for sometime on my desktop back in 2021. For the most part I had a good experience except that I couldn't figure out how to connect earphones/mic on the ports on my PC case. I had to plug it directly to my motherboard for Freebsd to detect them. I used an Nvidia card at that time and it also worked very nicely although it had much older drivers than Linux.

I ended up switching back to linux because of 2 reasons -

    1. I have a few BTRFS drives that I use regularly and couldn't afford to buy some new ones for Freebsd at that time.
    2. I couldn't play games using steam proton. I don't know the situation these days, but I'll surely check it out If it has improved since then.

You should give Freebsd a try, you might like it.

  • Dualboot works well for people especially if they play games like Valorant and LoL which has rootkit anticheat.

  • I usually use audiobookbay.

  • The Xfce logo looks like it's for rat poison.

  • I want to thank you so much for suggesting this. I'm almost caught up with all the episodes of the podcast and I'm hooked. I just wish I had the time to follow up each episode with supplementary reading.

    P.S: sorry for necroposting !

  • I was super interested in getting a job in cybersec, especially red team. But unfortunately no one wanted a fresher like me when I graduated.

Then things led to one another and I found myself working as a web developer. I'd still jump to a good cybersec job if I ever land one.

  • I'm in India. Everyone I talk to just recommend either working as a developer or working abroad.

They do have a reason for saying this though. The average electrician , plumber and carpenter that they know are all make enough to survive but not enough to lead a lavish lifestyle. People who work in waste management and transport usually make even less than electricians and plumbers.

Maybe things are changing these days, I'll have to talk to the right people to get a better idea..

Where do you guys download pirated android apps from ?

    Android @lemmy.world

Why do most newer phones other than pixels have little to no support for custom ROMs ?
