  • Yup optimizations and customizability is what makes gentoo unique. For starters - You can use any init system, replace glibc with different c libraries etc.

  • I'd say Void linux and opensuse also qualify for the "No time for distrowars" section.

  • Although I don't consider myself an advanced user, I used to daily drive Gentoo a few years back.

Just don't waste your time compiling packages like firefox and libre office. There are binaries available for big packages so make use of those. It won't make much of a difference in performance imo.

  • Try checking torrent sites like torrentgalaxy , thepiratebay ..etc. you will eventually find what you are looking for.

    • Try to listen/think before you start talking.
    • Listen to your parents even if you don't feel like it.
    • Stop watching the naughty stuff because it's bad for you.
  • I think this could help you.

  • In some countries like India, people just assume that everyone uses whatsapp. It's gotten to the point where whatsapp has become the definition of messaging (for most people).

I don't see how Whatsapp is outdated to the point where one would compare it to IE, but I'll say whatsapp is more like Google Chrome than IE.

  • Is there any way to use org roam in vim ? I'm interested in trying it out.

I have been using an android app named orgzly and have found org-mode to work just as good as markdown for me. For markdown I was using an app called Markor.

  • I have used Gecko in the past. I really liked it. I'll be checking out spiral linux now. Thanks

  • They do have similar themes but the video I linked clearly has more explicit visuals.

Adults may see it as normal, but I certainly don't want my kids to watch videos like WAP and get normalized to the such visuals and nudity.

Youtube should properly age restrict videos based on their visuals at least.

I'm sure you understand what I'm getting at.

  • You could try Proton, but I am not aware if they are offering any online office web apps.

  • Oh no.. I just bought a domain for my friend from there, only a few months ago.

I should've used namesilo or porkbun instead.

  • We already have peertube and Odysee. But majority of the content still lies in Youtube.

  • I actually meant music videos like Cardi B's WAP which is not even age restricted in Youtube.

  • I just use Cloudstream on my phone. I wish there was some way to use it on TV as well.

  • I guess there's Odysee as an alternative to YT. But I have not used it as of late... I hope it's still alive and kicking.

  • I have Disney+ and Prime video, but my family watches Youtube on tv for the most part. So I was thinking of cancelling those subscriptions anyway.

And if I ever happen to need any particular show, I can just go on a little fishing trip to the sea.

  • I was using mullvad for a few months and noticed that a lot of websites I wanted to use were not working for me. Plus they removed port forwarding.

Since then I have been looking for alternatives.

    Currently I'm considering -

    1. Airvpn
    2. Azirevpn
    3. PIA

Pia seems to have a really good deal for the 3 year plan. This particular plan is so cheap that other providers prices seem ridiculously high. I have not heard much good things about PIA, so I still havent bought it.

I have generally heard a positive response on Airvpn.

    Don't know much about Azirevpn.

Are there any cheap yet "not shitty" vpn providers that you guys suggest ?
