Winter is Coming

  • Well for the snow, I'd imagine the cleared circle is from the heat from the fire. I'd say it's more suspicious that the chopping block has unmelted snow on it so close to the fire, but it's also possible someone moved it into frame for the picture, which also could be why it's more crooked. And do you never put Christmas lights outside where you are? It could very well be just a regular tree with outdoor rated lights on it.

Not saying that it's 100% not AI or anything, the vibe is definitely AI, just that I don't see anything completely unreasonable in this image that gives it away.

Edit to add: it's a photo from 4 years ago, categorically not AI.

  • I think I agree, I don't think it's AI generated (reflections all seem to line up, none of the details are really weird that I can see) but I suspect it may be a manipulated image, either via AI or manually. The focus seems off to me, especially in the foreground.

  • Is there a reason you have characterized this incident as a gender issue?

Was the poor work the work of the nurse who heard you and chewed you out? Do you often criticize the work of your coworkers in a nonproductive manner, expletives or no?

Did you say anything else before saying "fuck" to your coworker, or before she chewed you out? Do you think you were on good terms with her before this incident?

Are you listening to the specifics of your coworkers' complaints? What are they asking you to do differently?

  • This is true, but the larger the margin the more difficult it makes it for them to contest.

Vote. Bring your friends and family to vote. Call up your friends in other states and make sure they have a voting plan.

Voting won't magically fix our broken political machine but it will help us from sliding deeper in the hole. Vote like you're taking a stupid little walk outside for your mental health during lockdown- not the only way you should be taking care of things but important maintenance nonetheless.

  • Hi! Not strictly a lesbian here but in a lesbian relationship. Yes, lesbians have top/bottom dynamics typically in the "one doing the action" vs the "one being acted upon" across various different acts. Most switch it up ("vers"), rather than identifying primarily as tops or bottoms. If you are strictly a top or strictly a bottom, you're described as "stone" as in "stone top" or "stone bottom".

Very important that these are completely different roles than dominant/submissive/switch, which are BDSM terms and describe a more psychological aspect of a relationship than the more physical top/bottom/vers.

  • Look, folks in the US are extremely on edge about this election (that's both currently happening through early voting and the last day possible within 2 weeks), and in particular, foreign interference/propaganda. There's a lot of crap we're getting from every angle under the sun trying to get "the right people" to vote and "the wrong people" to stay at home, depending on the political inclination. It's exhausting and we're having a bad time. We know shit sucks here and we are trying our hardest to not descend further into fascism with a guy who literally admires Hitler. If we get some lightly progressive policies out of it, that's great. By pushing some "both parties suck" propaganda in this eleventh hour, everyone is going to dog pile you because we're sick of this so much.

  • Thank you lol

I am noting that OP didn't respond here, mayhaps they enjoy critiquing political circumstances they can't contribute to more than addressing their own? 🤔

And they edited the post to something innocuous! For anyone coming in late, the original was what u/Prunebutt here said but with US politics instead.

  • If you get denied for coverage for something you know is in your plan always ask for the name and credentials of whoever made the denial! If they are not an MD they are not supposed to make that call as that can be interpreted as practicing medicine (determining if someone gets treatment or not) without a license. Often insurance companies will back down if you assert that you need a medical professional to review the denial /your appeal of the denial. (YMMV/IANAL)

  • I hate to be pedantic but that's almost exactly the definition of a centrist, someone who collaborates with both sides (even if one of those sides is fascist, genocidal, racist, etc.). And again, I don't disagree, it's a bad thing to be for exactly that reason. But it's also a different thing than being explicitly a right wing authoritarian fascist like Trump is.

  • Don't mistake me for a Kamala Harris apologist- she is absolutely a huge centrist in her presidential campaign. I am tired of this false equivalency with the total fascist ilk she's running against. It's not useful and it's dishonest.
