  • I think it's dangerous to think of him as stupid. He's undoubtedly stupid. But he's also cunning in the same way a raccoon is. It's not raw intelligence, it's some kind of freak skill at saying what others want to hear. And his reward isn't getting into a garbage can in an alley, it's attention. He loves it.

So thinking of him as stupid is dangerous. Because when he gets attention, there's a segment that want that same attention and get it by being more extreme and acting. Something Trump can't do on his own (again, too stupid, lazy, and incompetent) but he can make others do his bidding.

And there's something about that ignorant, blind grasping for negative attention torn from a toddlers playbook but fueled by shitty beer, childhood trauma, and macho bravado mistaken for actual motivation that can be deadly.

  • Laundry: I use "laundry bags", they cost about the same as hampers. I keep them in my bathroom and office (work from home) because I have to start work much earlier than my family so get dressed there in the morning. They are portable, don't look that messy (just a black bag) and easy to tote around when full.

Edit - forgot to mention (of course) that a big bonus for having one of these in my office which is near our kitchen and living area is I throw all the socks people take off and hoodies, dish cloths, etc into it which keeps the dog from stealing them and keeps the main area tidier.

  • It's funny, I just realized artifact is installed on my phone (forgot about it) and noticed if I tell it to stop sending me Psychology Today articles (like 20 minute YouTube video that should be 30 seconds, but in article form) I just get more pop psych from another click bait source. Probably the next highest bidder.

  • I do this when time travel comes up, but more because I get tired of explaining the block universe theory and no one likes a guy that tries to convince them that they don't have Free Will.

  • A friend of my brother has the same name as a Muppet. Used to haul his ID out in bars and use it as an ice breaker. I mean he could have used "me like you" as an ice breaker, given his physical appearance, so not sure how much of an advantage this gave him.

Edit: just realized I inadvertently imitated Cookie Monster, but it was a different Muppet.
