  • Damn, that's crazy. Tbh, I've always liked the idea of being a driving instructor but you generally have to pay to modify your own car (in ON, not sure about BC, of course) and that's prohibitively expensive for me. No wonder there's a low supply of people with instructor experience to do the testing.

  • All of your dev log should be able to be accessed on a single page. There shouldn't be pagination. On mobile, your site is really hard to use.

Try a static site generator or hosting on GitHub Pages or something.

  • That's awesome, thank you, but the damage is already done and the mods are already broken. I am mostly interested now in hearing that it's done being updated so that I can go through it at my own pace with all of the content it will ever have and QoL and visual mods that still work. I appreciate you though.

  • I want him to stop because he keeps breaking the mods that I need to make this game how I want it. I haven't played anything past 1.4 or 1.5 because the update broke one of my favourite mods and I can no longer enjoy the game the way I did for years.

Work on Haunted Chocolatier or make Stardew Valley 2 so I can pick up the pieces and finish this fucking game. Otherwise I just can't fucking play without immense fear that a really important mod will break again at some point. Literally the opposite of a chill time.

Edit: I'm mentally ill, if that wasn't clear. I don't expect him to stop, I just want him to. Don't care if that's unpopular.

  • It means we need mandatory driver's education.

Most people don't even know how to merge properly (not even a zipper merge, just the concept of matching/exceeding the lane speed so that you can enter safely) let alone how close to follow, how to use a roundabout, or when to signal and why.

People seem to think signalling is for them and not others, so they signal for literally a split second or don't signal at all and I have no idea how they came up with those maneuvers other than in complete desperation and ignorance.

All of that means that people die/kill people because they're not skilled or knowledgeable enough, something that could be prevented.

  • Generally, leaving work early in Japan is (was?) seen as lazy and a sign of a morally dubious person. Keep in mind that, traditionally, people in Japan are expected to work 12-16 hour days with no complaints and, for businesspeople, sleep at the office if there is a lot of work to be done.

The fact that people are eager to leave early and don't think of it as inherently shameful signifies a huge shift in culture.

  • It's been reported (Debian mailing list, Phoronix, Linuxiac) that Debian 13 will likely be out this summer. The hard freeze is on May 15 and usually that means the actual release is pretty close, just a couple of months away.

Phoronix speculated that, since Debian 12 went from initial freeze to stable release in 5 months, Debian 13 could release around August.

  • Yes, Americans come to Canada for surgery. But there's nothing Trump can do to stop it without restricting the free movement of American citizens.

I suppose we'll have to see how the legislation banning people from traveling to other states for abortion care works out, because that's clearly going to be the framework used to target trans Americans. Not sure how that would apply to travel to foreign nations, but I'm sure the Republicans will come up with something.

  • I've previously lost 72 pounds with diet alone - has a caloric deficit worked for you at all? I have ADHD and exercise is just boring to me unless it's Just Dance. Plus, it's something you can do passively since eating less doesn't really take any time (except the time it takes to count the calories), unlike going to the gym or exercising at home.

  • Like taking the credit for it to increase his political capital

Yes. It's obvious that he would want to do that, because it shows that something meaningful has been done while he's been in office regardless of who championed it. He has already done it on Twitter.

Please don't provide dictionary definitions as an answer, its almost never going to be what the person was requesting clarification about

Emphasis mine. The definition answered your question enough that you intuitively knew exactly what I was suggesting, but hey, if you want I can delete it and you can wait for a response for the person you originally replied to. They'll just say the same thing, but maybe you won't be upset about it.

  • I wish that it wasn't dependent on household income or filing your tax return for the past year. Of course, dropping the means testing would also drop the tax filing requirement and probably save a ton of money on administration costs, but we can't have people claiming a benefit they "don't deserve," now can we? I fucking hate neoliberalism. I hope this program stays, but is modified so that everyone can use it.
