  • That would depend on how I was treated; I asked for specifics on how children in monasteries are abused, but you didn't provide any, so I can't really pass judgement on that other than to say that I am against child abuse.

Are kids still being sent to monasteries? The article says it's illegal now. Of course, this doesn't negate any damage caused in the past, but it's now a crime.

  • Can you be more specific? I've heard some people say that any amount of religion/spirituality at all is inherently harmful and that's a little bit unreasonable.

Admittedly, I don't have any knowledge here because this isn't an issue I've read about before, but the article says people under 18 aren't allowed to join anymore, so the extent to which monastic life is regulated seems excessive and the mandatory state approval of religious leaders seems strange.

  • Do not give cats dry food. They need water in their diet because they're not naturally big drinkers and live prey has a ton of water in its meat and organs. Wet food is the closest we can come to their natural diet without making it from scratch. Check out catinfo.org for more info from a vet about this.

Also, please keep them indoors with lots of opportunities for stimulation and play, including scratching posts. And the general rule for litter boxes is the number of cats + 1, so 2 cats need 3 boxes. When trying out an alternative litter, be prepared for them to hate it and the need to switch to normal litter (I had to do this with pine pellets, they hated the bumpy feeling on their feet); same with food—cats are really picky.

  • I do think you're overreacting. However, failing to yield right of way is pretty serious because it demonstrates a lack of understanding of basic road rules, and that can lead to carelessness and accidents, as you've unfortunately just experienced.

Do you feel like your driver's education was adequate? You may benefit from further study of yielding, what to do at intersections, and the steps required to make a safe stop or turn. YouTube is really good for this. Then reinforce it with practice on roads with less traffic.

It's true that nearly every driver gets into a fender bender at some point, but driving is necessary in many places and that's why it can be such an important skill to learn. Don't be discouraged by an accident, but do make a point to be more attentive to who has right of way because failing to yield can be very dangerous.

  • They are heavy-handed and it comes at the expense of atmosphere and tension; a lot of their efforts come across as cheap even though there're obvious signs of attention and care.

I think the remake of Silent Hill 2 suffers for it. They shouldn't be given this franchise IMO. You can see it in Layers of Fear and The Medium, and even in The Observer and Blair Witch to some extent.

I like Bloober Team (I've played a ton of their games, obviously) but they just haven't impressed me to the point of convincing me they can remake of Silent Hill properly. It's an important franchise and they miss the mark on all of the subtleties that made the originals excellent.

  • Both are good options, it really depends on how busy you'd like to be and in what ways. I'd hazard a guess that there's more rote memorization involved in medical school, but both are going to be very dense.

I'd like to introduce another one though: engineering. If you like understanding how things work and you're good at math, it could be a great career too. 4 year degree plus a few years (depends on jurisdiction, in my country it's 5 years) of on-the-job training under a licensed engineer. There might also be EU agreements that let you practice internationally.
