  • I’ll be throwing it back in there today.

  • I should say too that if those features are important to you (which is understandable) give me another week.

  • It is on TestFlight for a reason. It is not a finished product.

Settings are cleared because of a new system of storing the settings.

I am implementing all of those settings. Please be patient.

  • Don’t worry, it will be there soon :)

  • Deadlines are a removed.

  • Thanks! Glad to be back at it.

  • I’ll throw it in there soon. Was mainly focused on making sure each of the original functions is available then going to do a lot of attention to detail on design. Compact was always something that bothered me both in terms of performance and design, so I want to make sure it is done right.

  • It should be available as 1.0 and should say 90/89 days remaining. Did you refresh the screen? Sometimes it gets stuck on the old version.

  • Thanks for hanging in there. The wait will be worth it :)

  • Oh yes, it is much better. The glitchiness was caused by the slow rendering from that horrible framework. It’s ridiculously better now 👍

  • Thank you :) you won’t be let down for your patience!

  • Of course :) glad to be back and working on it. It was a good break from things, but it was a good bit longer than expected just due to some other commitments I had as well. Really excited to get this new and - frankly amazing - new update out in full.

  • It’s absolutely wonderful but a massive headache at the same time. Honestly, had I had more react experience in general before, things wouldn’t have been so bad. All my react experience before memmy mainly came from when class based components were still the norm!

Alas I’m just a backend dev by trade so moving to front end stuff was a bit difficult!

  • I’ve fixed a bunch of stuff there. Hopefully with a few more tweaks it will be wonderful.

  • Yea this is the thing I keep saying. Who cares about if you're paying $20 for an app if that's what you want to do. Just remember to help out the instances who are running things to make that app work. I think a lot of people realize this and that's great, but I'm sure some people also don't. So, instead of circlejerking about Sync being $20, it would have been better for make one or two posts days ago with that reminder and leave it be. Instead, we see the circlejerk continuing days later.

  • I just use the mouse when I'm at my desktop. On the road I use the trackpad. I actually don't mind it at all, but that could just be from using it for years now. If I started using something else I might like it more 🤷

  • Oh yea. I still game on Windows but other than that I just use macOS for everything these days and the few games I do run on macOS I still use a mouse for (Cities Skylines actually runs great for example)

  • As someone who hasn’t used a non-Mac laptop in ages, is it still common to have a left and right click on the trackpad? There are certainly a lot of quirks with Macs and macOS, but honestly the trackpad right click is something that I prefer on Mac over other hardware. But I figured this was more common now.

  • Sync is for Android :)

  • I think they are saying that without the core Lemmy team, there wouldn't be a platform for Sync to build off of (or Kbin, but same thing applies). There's obvious truth in that statement, but I don't think it's a reason to belittle people for being willing to pay for an app. However in OP's case here, (at least without the edit) it does kind of come across as a "fuck you" to the actual platform that Sync is using. Probably not his intention, but perception is reality.

If anything though, we should be reminding people of this and asking them to consider also donating to the continued development of Lemmy or to the running of the instance they use. Not sure why there's this huge circlejerk about people paying for Sync. Let people do what they want...
