I don't usually find myself agreeing with Danielle Smith but I certainly support this initiative. There are many things to criticize her about, but I don't think this is one of them.

Sure, but you should still have a conversation to set expectations with that individual beforehand.
If you hire someone who's incompetent, allow them to believe they're performing well, and then fire them when it's easy for you—well, that would just make you an asshole.
Confirming what others have mentioned about pour-over, but I’d also like to add that it can be really easy & quick. Here’s the dead-simple method I follow:
I personally don’t find it funny because these types of jokes essentially boil down to “I used a concept outside of its context, and for that reason alone it is funny”. However, with a lot of these jokes the context is so narrow (i.e. programming) that they are almost universally not understood by wider audiences.
As a non-sciencey person, can someone explain the chasm of ignorance?
